Afrihost inconsistency is not worth the trouble... going to ditch them . **** service ! I regret leaving cool ideas where I had none of this crap !

I cancelled mine already. Should be released at the end of this month.
 
So the $1 mil question is who to jump ship to?

How does it work when you cancel your line to migrate to another ISP? I cancelled my VC fiber line, and they sent a message to say it's been cancelled and service will end on the 31st of March.

So I then applied with Afrihost, did all the admin and now my order is pending. How will Afrihost know to check on the 31st or 1st of next month to check where my line is and migrate it to AH?

I really don't want to sit without internet for a couple of days, just want a smooth switch from one ISP to another.

Just when I decided to give myself 100/50 for a month to see what all the fuss was about.. queued up my downgrade to 40/20.
 
Afrihost Pure Fibre on Openserve clearly not up to scratch.Need to go find that post from Gian about no throttling on Pure Fibre
Not taking any chances now but when the time comes will move to another ISP.Very tired of Aftihost and their smoke and mirrors.

They probably have some automated service that constantly checks VC API.

I hope it works when you need it to. From my experience, i had to still call Afrihost to get them to do their bit.
 
interesting - I just swapped over to my Vox 100GB account and I'm getting the same shitty download (<20 on a 100mb), but regular upload (almost 50). Openserve issue it seems.

CPT has seen the highest increase in traffic especially on NAP Africa probably catching Openserve off guard because they also running a PON.
 
Im on vumatel and the network is pretty much dead my side..ask a buddy also on vumatel and same issue seems its afrihost in general

I hope that OpenServe will pro-actively address this, because it is pretty bad. Local is fine and gaming seems to be okay-eish. Slightly higher latency.
