I hope that OpenServe will pro-actively address this, because it is pretty bad. Local is fine and gaming seems to be okay-eish. Slightly higher latency.

There is about a 20ms increase in latency with slower than normal speeds. NOC is engaging with Telkom.

Nope just a concerned citizen :) The increased latency started around 1pm or just before. You can see Telkom users are also complaining. Could be congestion issue on Telkom transit not sure don't have any info.

Funny you mention telkom users. My in-laws also OpenServe, but with TelkomISP and their international can barely go above 1mb on a 40/20 package.

Yes Afrihost does buy international transit capacity from Telkom. You will see that when you do trace routes. When there is an issue related to the transit provider everyone using them will suffer. Telkom, Telkom Mobile, Afrihost, Axxess, Webafrica.

Shot for the insight bud. Hope they resolve it and you have a great weekend.

Keep safe peeps and good luck with the lockdown.

And just to imagine what a quick response from any @Afrihost rep would do to to ease the concerns, no matter what the reason for the problems

Client care 101

On Octotel here, so not FNO related. Amazing how Afrihost's presence here has gone from amazing to nothing. I didn't cancel last month because of the uncertainty with the shutdown and if there would actually be anyone to transfer the line over, but come next month it'll be my last with AH.

I hope it works when you need it to. From my experience, i had to still call Afrihost to get them to do their bit.
How long did it take for your service to be up and running after you called them?

It is as Bad as it was when the 3 cable breaks were to blame. Yet test from my mate next door who is on Mweb and all works good?

Time to make the move away from Afrihost, I can see now why they wanted no part in the Vuma speed upgrades they cant even keep the current speed going.

And where are these Afrihost people that should be responding to the issue

My international has all but collapsed. Local speed tests are normal and international upload (wtf) is normal. But international latency and download is rekt. <1Mbps most of the time.

Me too so bad 0.25 download

Just did a speedtest and getting full line speed (500mb/s so you see my issue) but can barely get anything over half a meg (400kb/s) download speeds.

What I dont get is they say:
Uncapped. Unshaped. Unthrottled. Yet, I am def having something done on my line as its past 4am and im getting crap speeds!! there's also no fiber issues being reported on either frogfoot's site or afrihosts!!!

As expected with the WACS cable break traffic is rerouted to EASSY.

There is already congestion on this route.

The following ISPs will experience severe degraded international. Telkom ISP, Telkom Mobile, Afrihost, Axxess, Webafrica
