There will be ~20ms or so increased latency to London as SAT-3 does not land in the UK but Portugal and Sprain.

Hey Naks, What package are you on?

100Mbps Frogfoot Pure Fibre.

This has been going on for a while now, there is a ticket logged with Frogfoot, ref #LWK-801-12845 & #PQK-758-30552

Much better international speeds today:

Good Morning **Update on SAT-3/WASC: Final splice was completed and the cable repair vessel lowered the cable onto the seabed. The power ramp-up from Melkbosstrand was successfully completed, restoring an additional 70GB to international bandwidth. 140GB of international traffic is now available, alleviating severe congestion affecting international traffic.
Hi, what's the source of this information?

A awesome tech from Openserve, Chris, phoned me, and we did speed test from the ONT directly....he did port reset, and viola! Back to normal speeds! So for me it was an actual line error.

Hey TheMannequin
I suspect that your line is faulty however, it's hard to say without running any tests. The fact that your friend gets better speeds doesn't really say anything about your line or where the fault lies. Please drop me a PM with your B number or clientzone username so I can have a look.

Local speeds a bit better today but still only getting 50 down on a 100/50 line (OS). Was a full 100 this morning but as the day goes by it drops.

--- bras.afrihost.com ping statistics ---
28 packets transmitted, 28 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.918/5.485/10.815/2.644 ms

Seems fine there.

@AfriGuy / @AfriFella

OS CPT 100/50

ISP: Afrihost Other
Ping: 3ms
Download: 20.58Mbps
Upload: 48.94Mbps

Where does the problem lie if my pings are this good but getting a 5th of my line speed on local, tests early morning give me full line speed.

Seems good again , without VPN

Yeah same this side. International is full speed just increased latency while we wait for WACS to come back online.

Did you try another ISP capped account?

Vox is actually worse, AH up to 55 down and 50 up now.
Just wondering if AH will actually have some explanation of why local transit is also suffering.

What does an extended ping to bras.afrihost.com show? There should be no ping higher than 4ms

Tried bras.afrhost.com which actually responded and gave me 290ms - got a fright, anyway typo corrected:

--- bras.afrihost.com ping statistics ---
52 packets transmitted, 52 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.655/6.811/12.874/3.494 ms

Two chromecasts streaming DSTV+Hulu while this was going - doesnt seem high enough to half/fifth my line speed?
