Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread

Hi AfriNatic,

I hope you can assist me. This morning I received an sms that stated Welcome to Vuma Reach. When I tried to connect to the WIFI it did not show my normal SSID but showed MitchellsDefault. I now cannot connect to the wifi at all. Im with Mitchells Fibre though Afrihost.

I have also noticed on the Afrihost client zone that my speed was bumped up from 20MEGS to 50MEGS but the speedtest still shows between 18 and 19MEGS.

Please let me know if you can assist.

I know there are some exclusions, can you confirm which package you are on and I will check?

I am on the 20/2 package.

Mine has definitely not been upgraded. I'm on Vumatel. Is there another way to check?

Same here. Still on the normal speeds I get with my 8/2Mbps over Vumatel.

I have inquired on this and this is the feedback I received.
"Fibre line speed upgrades will automatically start on 01 April 2020. Please note that it may take some time for the upgrades to be completed and you may not see the upgraded speeds right away. In most cases upgrades will start with smaller packages and then move to the larger packages. All upgrades will be completed by 03 April 2020."

Hi oneforall, I'm sorry that to hear that you are battling with your connection, can you please use a LAN cable to connect your PC to the router then go into the router config page to reconfigure your WiFi settings to what you would prefer. The process to upgrade lines started today but it will not be immediately, it should be completed by the 3rd so please bear with us.

I'm laughing at the speed upgrade on metrofibre. If you have a 200meg line it will get upgraded to 210meg.

Not sure if it's a typo.
