Can you please tell me if you're without any connectivity at all or if the service is intermittent? We are aware that some Openserve clients do not have any connectivity at the moment but it isn't necessarily isolated to the Durban area.Speeds are shyte here in Durban today - Openserve
Say what ??Hey. The line isn't the problem. We've received word that Google is currently experiencing issues and they're looking into it. This will affect most Google Services.
AH is usually quite good in passing savings onto customers so lets hope.Wonder if ISPs will also drop prices...

We're glad you see it that way. Out of curiosity, what would be the most ideal pricing for you on the line you're running currently?AH is usually quite good in passing savings onto customers so lets hope.
I'd interested in finding out how long you've been experiencing these issues as its not something we hear about often. I think Ping may have to be looked into you but can I ask that you drop me a PM with your clientzone email address and I'd be happy to look into it with you? Thanks for the awesome question.AfriGuy please explain why your service seems so inconsistent when it comes my third party IPTV (not P2P) streams . Seems to be continuous endless battle since I joined . Works fine for a week then doesn’t .. and so it goes on.
Each time when experiencing issues , I have to switch on a VPN for my streams or work seamlessly... WHY ????
I'd say aligning it to around Frogfoot pricing would be a nice change. We're glad you see it that way. Out of curiosity, what would be the most ideal pricing for you on the line you're running currently?
I can totally understand that. I guess there is some consideration to be taken when this is in front of the powers that be. With that said, we do try to ensure that our clients get the best of their fibre lines with zero usage thresholds and no throttling. I guess in the long run it will all come down at some point and we can look forward to seeing fibre as something that homes all over the country use. These types of things drive prices down as time goes by.I'd say aligning it to around Frogfoot pricing would be a nice change.
Looking at 50/50 on Frogfoot @ R847.00 compared to 40/20 on Openserve @ R917 I'd think a R150 drop would make it comparatively acceptable (R767).
Well hopefully the drop in IP Connect pricing makes this possible in the short term.I can totally understand that. Resetted ONT + router everything working much better now
@AfriGuy @AfriFella I'm finally online with Afrihost after struggling for 2 weeks to get my ONT released from Vodacom ISP. Your customer service agents Godfrey and Happy we're very good, stayed online with me while we tried different options on the router and ONT to troubleshoot the line migration, whilst Godfrey was consulting with Openserve to get the line released. They got the job done when numerous of your other agents couldn't.
It's quite something how much of a difference there is in the quality of the line, despite still being on Openserve. I'm getting super stable pings to game servers now, with roughly 1ms deviation during an entire gaming session. Previously my ping fluctuated by 30-40ms up and down the entire time. Latency international is roughly 25ms better, local about 15ms better to most sites.
Really hoping it stays this way.
@Afri-people : I have a Frogfoot installer coming on Saturday. What would be the best way of contacting AH support for activation ?
What about my account passwordNo need. Once they installed plug everything in and it should work. If not visit http://activate.afrihost.com
Pro rata billing will start from the day of activation so keep that in mind.![]()
