@wingnut771 If you do a speedtest to that server, do you see your full line speed or how much do you see in terms of percentage?
no i don't, about a quarter speed but not seeing any problems, must just be speedtest.net:

@wingnut771 Thanks for the test. I have also been having some weird trouble like that.

Out of curiosity, what's your MTU size. I am currently playing around with mine, it's been left on default since I received my router from Afrihost.

We've actually been getting some good news from the powers that be about this but we're waiting for the official info. All clients that are with Openserve should receive comms about this but please let me know if you don't hear anything by tomorrow.
I just got upgraded working like a charm

Try changing it to 1480 and test again. I'm still tweaking mine but changing it made one helluva difference both local and international
1500 is correct setting for vuma ethernet tho.
i still get linespeed when i download:

@wingnut771 Weird, I changed my MTU back to 1500 and tested the same tests as you and there is a difference between 1500 and 1480 for me.

Well as long as your line is working as you expect it to then that's all that matters I guess.

Thanks for double checking with me.

Nothing yet.

@AfriFella Please check DM's...

Does anybody know if people on the 8/5mbps fibre package from Afrihost are also eligible for the speed upgrade? The announcement only mentions the 10/5mbps and above packages.

My OS fibre line was just upgraded from 40mbit to 100mbit:
Testing from AFRIHOST OTHER (169.1.77.247)...
Retrieving speedtest.net server list...
Selecting best server based on ping...
Hosted by MTN SA (Port Elizabeth) [28.71 km]: 21.466 ms
Testing download speed................................................................................
Download: 95.94 Mbit/s
Testing upload speed......................................................................................................
Upload: 51.30 Mbit/s

Nice, congrats. Did you do anything on your side, like turning the ONT on/off or did it just happen?

The delay in comms are cutting it close to the end of the month, which is annoying given the probable billing implications.

My 40mbit (Openserve) line also just upgraded to 100mbit....

Had to restart ONT and did router just incase as well.... timing was a bit off, as I was IN A MEETING with the office.... but glad I got now....

Good sales pitch this as well, once they make you used to the faster speed, once the free period is over, good chance a lot of people will upgrade anyway!

Anyone struggling with Usenet speeds?Usually get 11 MB/s but last 3 weeks have not been able to get more than 7 MB/s on my 100 mbps line.Tested with various Usenet providers and same result.
