Been down since about 12h00 today and whole of Gauteng, and this is classified as a medium impact outage??
Any how any further update on this? Saturday night Netflix and chill non existent at the moment
Good morning,
I understand your frustration and I do apologise for this downtime. We are in contact with MFN to push for this issue to be resolved.
The issue is intermittent but for us it causes more issues. We use DHCP and when the DHCP requests does not reach our DHCP server clients will be down completely. Other ISPs use pppoe so it will keep trying to authenticate giving them some sort of connectivity.
Really sorry about this.
Thank you for the update. Not great that it's still down almost 24 hours later
Is there no way to update you network status page with more information?

Any further update?
Any refund for the loss of connectivity for which at present is 30 hours and still counting?
MFN is close to a solution. Faulty equipment is to blame and they have been on site through the night to find a solution. I'm hopeful it will be resolved soon. I do apologise of the prolonged outage and know it must have been a horrible experience.
Seems like this is resolved. Check the CISP forum.42 hours now and still not resolved.

A number of critical switches have failed causing the downtime.
I can definitely ask an accounts supervisor to confirm with Fibre Ops to give a credit. Can you just drop me your details so we can take it from there.![]()

Would like to think MFN would have redundancy in place to accommodate "critical switch" failures.
Morning,
Can you send me your clientzone so I can just double cwith MFN
I am not at home to check, will get my wife to double check.
But why has the network status page not been updated to reflect the same? Are we just supposed to keep checking every 30 mins?
This goes with my earlier post that the updates on this outage have been pathetic. Both from Afrihost and metrofibre.
The status pages gets updated if we get info from Metro Fibre. The status page gets updated and cleared manually with incidents like these. I will ask to have the status page updated.
I wouldnt bother updating it, i just got back home. I cant even do a speedtest.
So maybe from you side, whats the official verdict on this? Resolved or not? Or do i have some other issue?
