I'm not aware of any known issues with MFN but let me see if I can find any notices if there isn't anything we should log faults on a case by case basis.

Thanks!

Still dead my side, all lights are shining on the ONT, Huawei router won't connect with the red light shining.
I've restarted both, no change.

Can you drop me your clientzone email address again for me so I can log a fault.

Very nice!!If the Octotel network was as stable as Openserve I would move in a heartbeat.

True but it's not all areas that are experiencing congestion issues and Octotel has been working on getting those resolved.

One nice thing about the above pricing is that it's live right now. Meaning you can signup and get double speed for free to. Reduced price and double speed is a pretty sweet deal. :)

@AfriNatic third night in a row now with issues on metrofibre. Cannot do anything with the connection, not even a speed test.

Is there no feedback on this?

Morning,

I think let's get some trace routes and a speedtest and that I will log a ticket for MetroFibre.

Hi, I've been experiencing strange connection issues on my MetroFibre connection in the past few weeks and last night it got to the point where it seems to have started affecting my authentication to cloudflare sites.

My main issue started with my connection taking extremely long to authenticate and load sites, once authenticated it would load fast but the initial load took minutes. Then I started getting security checks on google search and other google hosted sites, this has now moved on to cloudflare hosted sites as pic related shows. This happens on all my devices connected to the fibre connection, once I switch to mobile data I do not have these problems.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the static IP that MetroFibre assigns me, but I would like some clarification or assistance with this if at all possible. Thanks.

Hi,

This could be due to our public IP on the carrier grade NAT system being flagged for possible spam either due to multiple clients having the same IP or other reasons.

Can you send me your clientzone email address so I can have a look for you?

Yes I want to see that it failed and then screengrab that. I attach all this to the ticket for the MFN technician to see the poor condition of the line to prevent back and forth and the the fault not getting resolved.

So here is current speed test result (25mbs line)

Okay thanks if you can send me a trace route to 1.1.1.1 for about 3 minutes or so and please do them while connected directly to the ONT.

Send me a pm with the details and your clientzone again so I can log a ticket for you with all the info and we can take it from there. ;)

As a matter of interest how many users share a single natted IP in these FNOs?

So, according to a contact of mine at Openserve, my side of the neighbourhood should be going live late next week or early the following week at the latest.
I will however be going away for a few days early December.

I will be using Afrihost as my ISP, as I already have LTE with them. :)

Is it possible to order fibre once it becomes available to order and then schedule the installation for as soon as I get back?

It depends how many people are on the same ip netblock but it can be quite a lot of clients. I would need to ask someone in NOC for the exact numbers though.

Right now your order with us is on pending due to the area not being live. If we place an order manually on the Openserve portal we would be able to schedule the installation date for you. If not then Openserve would call you to schedule an appointment at which you can give them a suitable date to schedule. They would likely want to do it asap but you can schedule it for a later stage.
