Did you already take the double speed promo? If you did the promo discount that you opt for will carry through with you when you upgrade.

Let's say you took the promo from 20 to 100. The price difference is R120 and the discount is applied for R120. If you now upgrade to 100Mbps you won't get another double speed promo option the system will regrade you to 100 and keep your current discount which is R120 so you will pay the fee 100Mbps less the R120 discount.

The same will apply if you regrade to 200Mbps the system will charge you the fee for 200Mbps less the R120 discount.

For you to have gotten the discount you should have been on 100Mbps before taking the free double speed promo.
So I'm on the 100/50 package right now but paying the discounted rate (invoices have a discount line item).
If I upgrade to 200/100 then I will keep the recurring discount until Jan?

Yes you will keep the discount that is currently being applied however it will not increase to cover the difference between the 100 and 200 though.

Anyone seeing massive speed drops in the West Rand?
Vumatel Aerial. Getting 30MB-80MB on a 1GB line. Upload is fine. Max upload speed.

There was an issue with Kensington pop where the olt had a harware issue causing slow download speeds.

What are your latency and upload speeds looking like?

We're experiencing same issues here in East London, 30-40min cycles, uploads are fine, but downloads going under 1mb

Morning,

Sorry for the late reply. I tried to have a look at all the notices we had from the providers but I could not log any outage notices at all.

@AfriNatic I see the double speed promo is on Frogfoot too, if I already have a 10/10 that's running on 20/20 and I upgrade to 20/20 will it be 50/50?

No you will not get the 50/50 if you are already doubled. FrogFoot is only doubling new activations and not regrades. We have enabled that options to give clients that did not get the opportunity for the double speed from FrogFoot to get it now on us.

Traffic is currently rerouted via EASSy while we investigate the outage with our transit provider. Apologies for the increased latency.

Oh no... say it aint so... Wondered why twitch was being rather useless. Can barely run a 360p stream.

Link has been restored. Traffic is back on the CPT to London route. We are monitoring traffic levels and it's looking good so far.

After ordering in Feb 2020
My fibre was activated last Thursday

Along the way I received every kind of misinformation about my order. From being told that Frogfoot would give me a call to install in May 2020, to Afrihost submitting a cancel on my order without my concent

To having the status of my order changed to pending while some agents telling me that the area hasn't got fibre

Now that I actually have everything installed and connected.

My internet connection drops every few 10 to 50 minutes for 5 to 20min at a time

I've got two seperate tickets opened for the last 3 or 4 days, from being sent corupted firmware files to being asked to connect laptops that dont have an ethernet connection via ethernet cables

I have been a user of Afrihost since early high school and this 9 month ordeal has been an utter farce.

@AfriNatic Between my two tickets and the call I've been on hold with for the last 30 min. Is there any thing I can do to get a more stable connection than my local LTE tower?

There's a 78 page thread about frogfoot issues:

Do you have any ticket ids for me so I can investigate it. If it's an issue with the last mile provider I would do my absolute best to get a solution for you.
