Anyone else having really bad international speeds? Tests to local server on speedtest.net shows me getting close to my 500 Mbps. Change to any international server, and I struggle to get 10 Mbps.

How should I interprate these traceroutes?

Eg, I found NAP IP's and tested some pings and tracert against them.

This is to NAP Durban. I'm on the KZN, South Coast.

3. We load balance IPC receive and that is why you see 2x IPs there.

Nope, 0% packet loss and latency looks normal (~150ms to UK servers). Just any downloads, streaming or speed tests from international servers are just really slow. I've tried multiple devices on both Wifi and LAN and get the same results.

ISP's all have their own routing setups, VPN's are on various networks which in turn have their own routing.

At some point you have to rely on who you have your peering agreement with to do their part and not be bad.
In this case its the other people who are having issues.

It just depends on what routing options an ISP may have available to them to switch to.

Edit: While its not an Afrihost issue its an issue for Afrihost to try make a plan since it affects their customers.

Its called redundency. Its not just practiced much in South Africa, in any industry really.
