Im also experiencing issues with github. Rest of the net works well. Git clones at a measly 5 kb/s, sometimes it goes waaaaaaay up. Its also very frustrating.

I have not changed any DNS settings, although Im on IPv 6 (but it was slow even before I changed to IPv6

Talking about Github it appears to be down for me again tonight...

So perhaps not quite a DNS / Cloudflare issue.

I've been raging the last two days that Mega won't upload faster than 10-15MB/s on my 500/250Mbps Openserve line, but I just discovered via speedtest.net that I seem to have a max international upload rate of ±100Mbps. Which therefore correlates to the upload speed I'm seeing.

What's going on with international?

Does anyone else have Youtube buffering? It's been going on this entire week. After 6 it goes to hell. Impossible to stream at 1080p

Morning,

The trace route look clear to me. The server that your are testing to is located in central to western US and not Europe.
Jees sorry - my mistake I got the wrong IP address - let me not try post pingplots (of which I dont know much). Reality is that my son was playing pubg just fine last week and now he is getting a pretty steady 20% or so packet loss (as indicated by the network stats in the game). I bought a CyberGhost VPN subscription and with that there is zero packet loss (also to EU servers). I would prefer not to have to pay for a monthly VPN in order to get the service that Afrihost was providing just weeks ago.

Anyone else getting the Fibre Activation redirect on a web browser?

It was literally working fine about 30 min ago and I don't want to enter my phone number while it's already working. It might mess something up.

Morning,

We are aware of degraded international speeds during the evening peak. We have secured additional capacity from another provider to mitigate the issue.

Hi,

Are you still experiencing an issue? I see a notice that there was a mapping issue last night which should now be resolved.

Hi,

Did you use a local or international server on the VPN?

We are aware of degraded international during the evening peak however it's just increased latency and we aren't seeing packet loss.

I used international server on the VPN which resolves the issue.

ON a side note, I have logged a ticket with afrihost but the support guys don't seem to understand the issue. They keep asking for me to run a speedtest at afrihost (and the usual reboot the ONT etc...).

Sorry about that. We have an issue with certain international routes. We are hopeful to get it resolved asap.

Looks like i'm getting full speed on my iphone.

I'm on WIndows 11 connected via ethernet. What do I need the change?

Please can you run the below command as admin and then reboot the pc. Try speedtest again to see if the speeds improved.

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

No change

I tried downloading via SFTP from my phone, getting around 10 to 20mbit only, very erratic (even though speedtest showed full speed)
