I guess 50mb won't make much difference to those on 1gb/s /200mb/s anyways
Would be nice to get more but happy none the less.

Thanks for the support Afrinatic

Everything seems great again, in fact, everything feels much smoother with pages loading faster, etc.

We are still monitoring the situation and have a teams call scheduled for today with Vuma to address the root cause of the issue.

I Ordered my Fibre Installation a bit more than a week ago. Afrihost responded quickly. The Installation Contractor from Openserve was there 2 days after. Activation of the Line could not happen because there is some sort of break in the connection 360m away from my home, The contractor logged the problem with Openserve. That was 1 Week ago on the 8th of June.
Does anyone Know where and/or who I should contact to start resolving the problem a bit quicker?
I haven't logged a ticket with Afrihost yet, will be doing that soon.

Hi,

When there is an issue with Openserve that requires the order to be moved to Openserve cables to attend it usually takes about 7 working days to resolve.

Please can you send me a pm with your email address so I can investigate further for you?

So existing clients get the free upgrade until 13th September 2022. After that the speeds revert back to previous speed however you can then do a package change to the speed/price you want as displayed on the website.

The promo isn't technically permanent but you can switch to a better package after you enjoyed the free upgrades.

New clients get the price as displayed on the website so if you signup now for a 200/200 line at R1049 you won't be upgraded to the 500/200 for free as your upgrade is already included. We just loaded the changes so long for less admin later on when the promo is over and for more clients to be on the new prices.

I hope that makes sense
Just for clarity, Is your newly introduced 500Mbps Vumatel package for R1,199 per month part of a promotion or is it a confirmed permanent offering on Afrihost?
