Hey @AfriNatic , Seem to be getting high ping to JHB from Durban

Normal ping usually 12ms now it is 44ms

Morning,

Sorry for the late reply.

Our main DUR <> JHB path was down yesterday but it has restored overnight and latency should be back to the 10ms or so.
 
On a 50/50 Openserve line in East London. Speedtest is showing my download speed as 30 Mb/s although upload is 50 Mb/s. Torrents are only running at most 2MiB/s although I always used to get around 5MiB/s. Tried restarting everything but still the same. Please help.

I'm done with my current ISP and Vumatel being down for hours/days on end twice a month now.

How fast does Openserve do installations and if I order now will I be prorated for the month?

If I cancel with my current ISP now it will come into effect the 1st of next month.

Depending on the availability of techs there might be an installation slot today or over the weekend.

Pro rata is charged as soon as the service is installed.

Would you be able to tell me what the rate for the month would be if I ordered 100Mbps and it got installed today?

Edit: If they actually show up now I'm claiming fastest fibre installation ever.

Edit 2: Three hours after ordering and the installation is almost done, just mounting the ONT now.

Must say every time I had Openserve fiber installation/activation always went smooth and the line was stable. Recently I have been on Vumatel and Frogfoot and man Openserve just feels more consistent

Okay I'm not as happy anymore, I just found the ONT hanging from the fibre strand because the way they decided to mount the ONT was a blob of glue in each corner and pressing it against the wall.
 
Hi @AfriNatic , please could you check the Vumatel upgrade on my line.
I am on 100mb package which was supposed to be doubled to 200mb but still only getting 80mb if lucky.

Hi,

We have completed all the changes on our side on Tuesday.

If you aren't getting the speeds yet please double check cables and hardware to make sure it capable of the higher speeds.

Also please send me a pm so I can confirm for you?

Thanks @AfriNatic , cable tested with was a cat6 cable.
Do i need to reboot the ONT?
