I am at a loss with afrihost.

Anybody else experiencing absolutely atrocious line speeds in the pretoria east area?

When I got afrihost to recreate the ports and resync the line the speed got back up to half of that which my 4Mbps line should be then after 20 minutes it just dropped back to this.

Time to dump Afrihost and move to a new ISP.

what is your line syncing at ?

I left afrihost ever since they moved over to MTN, waste of time. Forever slow and always had problems thereafter. Web Africa and Open are quite good.

Yep, my 2Mbps is running at 2Kbps.
That's not good at all. :(

@OP I'm not in Pretoria area but I'm very pleased with Afrihost's performance. Hope yours improve as well.

I am jhb south... And am tired of it... Could not even wAtch YouTube without buffering last night... And I am on the afrigreen or whatever that is called.

Are you on uncapped perhaps? You could call Afrihost the FUP nazis. They throttled my connection so bad once at the beginning of the month in anticipation of me using too much that it was totaly useless. On the phone with tech support the guy pretty much told me to bugger off and find a new ISP. In all fairness though i was violating the FUP but the way they handle it is very bad.
After that incident i moved to Webafrica.

If you use a capped package then don't be so quick to blame Afrihost for the line. It is still a Telkom line and they have to fix line faults. Good luck to actually get Telkom to fix it though.
