Well I might be tempting fate here...but since it's been a good couple of months since I've posted here (at least one I know) I can happily report that everything has been running like a beaut.

Also thank you to Afrihost for having that nice prompt in the clientzone for me to downgrade my line to a 4mb. Finally can take that R100 saving :)

Once telkom ups my DP, I might move on to 10mb.

Keep up the great work!

Is there a reason why daytime Netflix would struggle a bit? On a 10mbps Home Uncapped account at the moment, speedtests look good (8.2mbps, 240ms). But Netflix isn't streaming HD - it tries to buffer HD, but then just reverts back to SD all the time. Looking at my bandwidth monitor, the usage doesn't exceed 3.5mbps (it doesn't even try to spike above that).
It's a bit weird.. have any theories?
My traceroutes are all normal, too.

240ms? This would indicate a problem on your line.

Okay can someone help please. I have no internet. Was on the phone with someone, but I think he forgot I was on the phone and went on tea...so I hung up after 20 minutes

DO you possibly have any ISP accounts to test with?

Unfortunately not. Tried telkom guest account. Got through now. Apparantly telkom needs to look at it and they logged a fault. My line sync rate is diaplaying on the router info fine though.

Hmm strange? Could you perhaps please connect with your one gig free account and see if that works :)

Tried now with another account and nothing. It is strange, she changed my sync rate to 7 mbps, and my router picked up the change.

Well, someone nearby me has the same issue. It is only affecting some in the area it seems. Telkom has been spotted working on a corner nearby lol

So I remember a few months back there was some hectic shaping thanks to capacity issues. I'm experiencing this again now but even worse. During the day I can barely load simple web pages and after office hours are still very slow to the point where it's impossible to play games online. This is on a 2MBps uncapped account. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

Shaping should not affect browsing or gaming? Could you run the new Afrihost report tool and post the results here :)
