Okay, now that is definitely worrisome, I want to check on something from my side, can I PM you if I need you to check something for me?

Fine with me. I'll only be able to check things after about 5 tonight when I get home, but feel free to send PM in the meantime.

The actual website only lists the most popular options, if you click the Sign-up Now option, you will be taken to a page where you can select from significantly more Capped options, allowing you to create a Bundle to your own needs.

I tried looking at that, but whatever I choose a 300GB + 10 Mbit works out more that 899R uncapped, that's why I asked as you stated that there was an option to changed to capped with 300 GB + 10 Mbit for less than 899.

Hi

Capped Account

10mb line + 200GB = R758
10mb line + 300GB = R938

And the double data is ending in 30 June, unless you get that R99pm thing

Indeed. :)

Although we haven't yet decided if Double Data will continue or not.

Hmmmm, ingame was better today but now I've seen I need to download something, activated a TC and it's still just chilling on 0kbps.

As an added test I just ran one of the tools on the forum from "Zertop" http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/607090-quot-Is-it-my-Line-quot-Report-Tool

As I was running this test I was talking on teamspeak with nobody else in the channel and had an average of 35% packet loss on teamspeak the whole time.
The test results show that it isn't my line that is at fault.

Zertop's "Is it my Line" Results
Date/Time: Tue May 05 17:36:07 CAT 2015

Basic Report:

Your packet loss was 0%.
Your average ping was 10ms.
Your maximum ping was 14ms.

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be running perfectly.
It seems that your maximum ping is also good. If there are any issues, they most probably lie with your ISP

We've run extensive tests using regular shaped accounts from 2Mbps to 40Mbps and we've seen good performance on gaming with Teamspeak running (but no other services). This is all using Port 9987. Although we don't shape by port generally, we've seen some traffic on non-standard ports shaped, but that wouldn't happen if you are using the standard one.

It may just be that contention is high when you've been testing and that's when our network performs poorly :(

Hey Guys

Just be advised we are seeing a drop off in international traffic and we're investigating with MTN. Local seems fine, but international seems pretty slow for a lot of users. Will keep you posted as I receive more info :(

Still doesn't make any sense. I can consistently get no packet loss on WA, and then I switch back to AH and the packet loss comes back. The frequency of packetloss on AH has been getting higher recently.
Guess I'll just have to start looking for a new ISP.

Any issues with Afrihost tonight? My Telkom account works fine.

Getting this on a speed test on a 10MB Capped Account.
Download Speed: 1532 kbps (191.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 734 kbps (91.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 207 ms

We're seeing issues on international throughput this evening :(

Why?

When is it likely to be up?

Can you credit my account for all the timed out junk I am sitting with?

Why not?

Do you accept Monopoly money (Afrihost being, you know, a bit of a Mickey Mouse operation these days)?

I'm afraid I don't have the exact details.

Another night of massive ping and packet loss ...... suppose clients can be grateful there is an issue and not the usual "It's fine here by us" lines.

We can expect that with our network problem regarding international traffic. International is probably going to see higher latency, and less throughput. We're busy trying to find the possible cause, then we'll know more about how to improve our client's experience.
