My Adsl connection is dead.

I have done a line fix (using tablet ad wifi hotspot), i have reset the router and even factory reset it.

Still no internet connection. The router is netgear DGN2200, three months old.

How do i know its my router and not my telkom line (with AH) or my account thats acting up?

Can a router konk out after only 3 months?

EDIT:
1Gb AH account no joy either

We are investigating authentication problems with MTN. We seem to be getting intermittent failures and only certain clients are affected.

If you can't get online at the moment, hold tight, we're working on this and it's got our full team's attention.

If you are online - please don't disconnect until we know the issue has been neutralised.

Will give you feedback as soon as it's sorted :(

Thanks for the update I was/am one of those unlucky ones and logged a ticket with support via another account but then 10min later got authenticated with my afrihost account now just seems like line is being shaped to the max.

Sigh,

And here I was on the verge of cancelling a trip to Durbs tomorrow to go ring some Incredible Corruptions clerk's bell for selling me a sh|tty router and wrote AfriMan a giant SOS PM explaining everything I've tried so far (which failed to send first time so I had to write it all again, on my cellphone.....) and just before sending a thread update pings in telling me it was an authentication error....

I really need a second separate account of some sort to test this issue in future... whats the details for that telkom adsl account that just lets you test the connection where you can only browse their website?

My Afrihost connection died about 6pm - red light on router

Changed back to MWEB settings - connected perfectly - using this connection now

Tried Afrihost twice in the last 2 hours - still no connection

This^

I don't have a second fallback account with anyone, if AH is down I'm in the dark hoping my 8ta-data sim still has some data on it.
Is there an ISP other than AH that also gives you a free 1Gb or something (other than FNB, I dont have an account, Steve)

Buy some Axxess Prepaid gigs, I think it's R29/GB.

You can connect to guest@telkomadsl (password guest) You can also run speedtests on saix.net
