Afrihost Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Well - I'm currently on the MWEB 512KB after the whole throttling thing last month - and its flying compared to my throttled 4MB account from Afrihost

I have a 50 GIG Afrihost account on a 4MB Line. Pathetic really.
 
Stay away as far as you can from them. They're current setup is unlawful, it's against the ISPA code of conduct, they advertise a false product and they deceive their customers in any way possible. They're a no-go!
 
Is anybody else experiencing really slow speeds on Afrihost uncapped today? Mine is crawling and i am on a 4MB line.
I have only used 5GB thus far.

Cancelling Afrihost, luckily the pro-rate refund, and moving to Mweb, luckily they will charge pro-rate for the month ahead.

Is MWEB really any better? If they are i am going to cancel with Afrihost, i gave them a chance but this is ridiculous, such slow speeds on a 4MB line.
 
If you are planning to use torrents, stay away from afrihost uncapped, they shape the living sh*t out of torrents. I am getting between 0.4kBps - 5 kBps on a 4Meg line.
 
I'm just curious as to what sort of speeds other people are getting on torrent downloads during the day... At night I run at full speed on a 512 line, but during the day I'm lucky to get 1kB/s... Is this the general speed I should expect on torrents during the day, or is it abnormally slow? Other downloads run fine, just torrents I'm wondering about...

Most cheap uncapped, shape or limit torrent during the day. At night they open up a bit. I also run at full speed at night, depending on seeders, and full upload. During the day it's quite poor.
 
I am an Afrihost fanboy but if this does not get better by next week then I am going to cancel all my accounts with them. The normal capped accounts are going at a snail's pace.
 
I've just cancelled my Afrihost account and signed up directly with MWEB (month to month data only).

Signed up and activated and surfing within 10 mins. It's like night vs. day.. 4MB connection - I cap my torrents @ 50kB during the day and its going at a full 50 - Afrihost only reached about 20 on a good day.
 
At this rate Afrihost is only going to have 384 and 512kbit users. I'm happy with my 384kbit at the moment, but I can understand why the 4Mbit users are ticked.

From what I've read on this forum it seems it is much more stable. What gets me a bit is when I phoned Afrihost they said I will have to wait a bit before the account is cancelled due to the high volume of cancellations. What do I have to lose at this stage, with the service I receive from Afrihost and with the current slow speed i'm experiencing, might as well try something else.
 
the during the day its a nightmare for torrents but at night i fly at full speed .

hoping to do another 10gb tonite.
 
Do you even have time to listen or look at 10Gb of music/movies??? OR heaven forbid that it is games, where do you people get the time to do this?
