Do you even have time to listen or look at 10Gb of music/movies??? OR heaven forbid that it is games, where do you people get the time to do this?

At this rate Afrihost is only going to have 384 and 512kbit users. I'm happy with my 384kbit at the moment, but I can understand why the 4Mbit users are ticked.

many thanks for your feedback. We have been aware that users in the Cape region have been experiencing problems since thursday, where various exchanges were affected. In addition the line testing that is taking place, we find that users are also experiencing variable speeds that range from 4-8/10MB, & as the line speeds are not stable the result also in higher latencies & slow speeds, also where the lines drop the connections.
What i can is have telkom re-sync your line on the exchange as well.
Have a great day & please feel free to let me know if I can be of further assistance.
I'm on a 384 account. for the first 6 days the account was heavenly, but now my max speeds are at 18kb/s. I downloaded about 15 gigs in the first 6 days now I can only get a few hundred megabytes in an entire night of download off of newservers. I learned they were throttling and shaping after I had signed up for them and they said they were only throttling the 4mb lines. Apparently they are also shaping and throttling the 384 lines as well. So is it a 15gb limit, then they drop the 384 line down to a 128 line? It really is quite aggravating that they give no information about this.
Dude wth do you do to get to 150GB of usage?
A quick maths exercise:
Afrihost 4096 uncapped @ R497 / R14.50 per GB = ~34GB (Roughly the 30GB point where heavy shaping kicks in)
So you're getting 30GB at their special rate, full speed, then another 30GB heavily shaped before the throttling occurs.
Extend this to 384k package and you get this:
Afrihost 384 uncapped @ R197 / R14.50 per GB = ~13.5GB
Given the situation above I would then expect to see heavy shaping on a 384k account at around 15GB. This seems to bear with what is reported above.
A little maths.
Note: I do not claim that this is how Afrihost are working it. I'm just speculating!
