The only cable I see for the batteries is a yellow cat5/utp into the can port on battery 2. Nothing between them.

I'm pretty sure there needs to be a comms cable between the two? There is definitely for my Pylontech stack

There has to be, else how would the other battery know what is up? The inverter now thinks the battery is full, because Battery #2 is full. But Battery #1 is likely so far out of balance with #2 that it is pulling the whole system down.

Ok checked in detail, there is a dedicated battery link with a cable.

But you can see the dips, the one with the canbus cable is 2.

Lol. I now see why you okes think I wired it upside down. The input side which is the cables still in the sonoff goes to a plug. The adaptor was connected to the output side. The pic makes it look like it is one cable.

As to the sonoff, it's been decommissioned.

It's a weird fault. If I didn't see the burned wire on the sonoff input I'd say it's a bad connection in the multiplug that was arcing... Bit that doesn't explain the sonoff input side. Very weird.

It works for some batteries... Not others. But there is a guid eon the SA site and requires an additional set of cables

I would connect the CAN bus cable from inverter to the battery on address 1. Seems like a logical thing to do. But see what happens after your batteries have charged.

When my second battery was installed, I asked the guy if he set the dip switches (he was supposedly a good solar install guy) - he said yes, but I checked immediately myself and saw he left it on address 15/16 (can't recall) - turned off both batteries and set to the new one to two. Also ensure the batt comms cable was connected between the two.

Are those AM2's? ... my SA says my first one is 110Ah and the second one is 100Ah ...

Yeh AM2s, newish. Installed November last year

RE: dip switches, because it's at the bottom and I have them mounted one above the other, I think the installer got confused setting the one lying on the ground... Personally I would have done it before mounting.

That's a huge capacity if true. How the heck do they have such variance in capacity? The one I bought two months ago should I guess have been a AM2 rev2, but apparently is not. Has 10Ah less capacity than the first one.

Can Solar Assistant be trusted to be giving the actual capacity is another question to ask I guess
 
Something strange going on with Hubble AM2's.

Mine have serial numbers starting with HL then numbers. Rated power is 115ah / 5500WH.

But check my mates Hubbles he had installed recently: Serial numbers start with HLD and rating is 125ah / 6000WH!

No mention of this larger battery on the Hubble site.
