All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

It depends on their current requirement, most electric kettles are between 1800-2200W, dishwasher water heating cycle is 2200-2500W, and electric irons on average range from 1400-2000W. So most will trip the inverter alone due to battery limitations.

So I tried a different kettle and it didn't trip the inverter (Phillips -1800w). Our kettle is SMEG and it's rated 2200 - 2600w. Having said that, my base load is very low, something like 200w, so I find it strange that it trips the inverter. I haven't tried the dishwasher, cause that plug is not running through the inverter, so it's off during LS.

Damn.... a 2600w kettle...I'd get rid of that sucker on principle.

Did you say you have a 0.5C 5K battery? If so, there's your answer - 2600w is more than 0.5C on it's own - add the 200w and you're sitting at 2800w

Lol...Woman and SMEG right...

Volta is a 1c battery... any guidance on what the setting should be on the inverter? I have no idea how this works yet.

The setting should just be lithium, with the BMS giving all the necessary details to the inverter.

2600W should not trip a 5kw inverter and 1C battery. My 3Kw geyser doesn't. A heating element is just a dead short. It's not like a motor that has peak draw.
That said, if you had the inverter drawing 3kw already and you turned the kettle on... different story... or if the battery, inverter or kettle are faulty...

Is this not related to the discharge Amps under battery settings? i would guess its set to 40A.

Take a look at the LiBMS screen. It will tell you what the battery's BMS is allowing i.t.o. discharge. Post a pic.

Installed the solarman logger yesterday, and it's pretty crap. Are you guys using solar assistant or something else?

I tried to give the solarman app a fair chance but found it to be extremely slow and buggy, solar assistant is leagues better but if you aren't going to be monitoring it regularly or making quick changes on the fly without hassles then you could probably be ok with solarman. It is free afterall while solar assistant is not.

Ya so I'm thinking for the 5kw system I'll just stick with Solarman. Not going to do solar on it and if it works then I won't really be monitoring it much.

On the 12kw, I plan to do solar, but I was hoping the installer would sort out all the settings so I don't have to learn how to do it. Is this possible?
 
Seems I have a problem. Inverter switched to batteries while we were out but no load-shedding and grid is available. Bypass doesn’t work and I know grid is back because complex lights are on.

It's still charging.

Put a 3k load on it and after 5mins check the LiBMS screen

See setting on the inverter. The load without the kettle on is 0.44 and the load with the kettle is 2.62. I tested this when there was no LS.

Do you have non-essentials that is powered?
Have you checked your meter is powered on?
 
Your max discharge is set to 40a. That's 2000w.
Turn it up to 100a and it will all work fine

If the battery is 1C, then it should be capable of discharging at 100A. Why then is it set to 40A?

What FCon and Ron said. Max discharge number too low.

Attached a pic of my setup. Im pretty sure it is a 1C battery based on the specs. Just wanted to confirm before I go ahead and make the change? Should be fine at 100a right?
