I'm looking for a new monitor and I'm considering the Samsung T240. I'm just wondering if anybody knows if it will be replaced by a new model any time soon. Samsung's LED monitors look very nice but unfortunately they run at 1900x1080. I want a 1900x1200 monitor. I want the extra vertical space.

Can anyone enlighten me on a alternative to the T240
Thanks

Strangely enough there are hardly any other 1920x1200 monitors available besides the Samsungs. :(

That is stupid. I'm willing to pay more for a 1920x1200 monitor and I'm sure other people are too. I heard that the 1920x1080 monitors are cheaper to make because of higher yields for the panels or something

Yes. By my short desk. But i will have a look. Last time I looked I seemed to remember the T260 looking huge when compared to the T240

If you can upgrade your desk too then get the T260!

Btw, the T2xx are unfortunately not mountable.

Haha. Yeah. Upgrading my desk will be a bit expensive. But I will consider it. I'll take a look at the shops tomorrow at the size of the monitors.

The Samsung 2433BW is definitely one of your best bets and should be around R3K. HP LP2475W has 1920x1200 and an asking price of R6K-R7K. There is a NEC available as well for similar price with less add-on features, but it has more picture settings. Unfortunately everybody out there wants to watch 16:9 movies on their PCs and the manufacturers got tired of hearing kids cry about "I can see black borders" so they shafted those who think 120 lines extra is actually useful. :)

I got a 2433BW - it is DEFINITELY 1980x1200, i.e. 19:10. And it's a stunner, highly recommended. There aren't many proper 24" 1200 monitors around, the extra .4" makes a surprising difference lol.

go into IC and look at the Sammy next to each other... just dont buy it there!
DIT: Post 1234 :)
