Amending the Constitution on land is becoming unavoidable

The first 2 years the restriction is that she has to work for her current company. Thereafter she can apply for an unrestricted blue card which can be renewed ad infinitum.

Moving to the US for example, yeah much harder. She wanted to go there and couldn't dream to get a VISA (whereas I got a L1 immediately). But there are a lot of other countries that are options.

Compared to the US, for me the experience now of getting a VISA for Europe is not very hard. And I'm not a special snowflake. They are just happy to have anyone that will contribute to the country.

OK aside from saying the cliche'd "your mileage may vary" I am going to check this out. The blue card, is for Germany isn't it? Or Austria (can't remember therefore I ask)
 
Excuse my ignorance, so why not give everyone some sort of land, there is a lot of unused land right ?

I think EWC is just smoke screen, also it is already provisioned for in the constitution.
If people have been waiting for so long and getting nothing/nowhere, what makes you think they are going to wait for a change in the constitution to start EWC....
What makes you think they are going to want to wait many more years for courts to sort out the claims and counter claims....
Do you think SA exited the ICC because they forgot to sign a document or does the SA Gov not want to be held accountable to the ICC for what is going to happen ?

It's not about land. It's about sticking it to the "oppressors". That was the general tone of the farce hearings they held.

EWC is nothing but retribution and vote-buying.
 
Everything the ANC does, is motivated mostly around sticking it to the "oppressors" which according to them is white people. Its incredible how much rage and anger they cling to for, for decades.

She got one from Germany but the Blue Card is an EU initiative, the link above lists a few countries that support it. You get a job there, first 3 months is probation (in Germany it is anmeldung which allows you to stay for 3 months) and if you pass that you get your blue card.

There are also other options, for example if you buy property of at least €350 000 in Portugal (for example in Lisbon which is an epic city), you get immediate permanent residency (and you are obviously eligible for citizenship after some time).

Also I travel in the EU a fair amount. Having residency in any EU state or citizenship in any EU state allows you access to all the others. You are seen as a citizen/resident of the EU by many countries. Once in the EU I was very, very rarely asked for identification while travelling through airports.

America is full of crap so they are a bad litmus test of "how hard it is to immigrate". I travel to the US every so often also and I actually find Europe much more appealing. Berlin was better than any city I've visited in the US, infrastructure wise and people wise, not so much "America F@#k yeah attitude the whole time". Only downside is you need to learn German but if you know Afrikaans it gets a lot easier
