How much have you actually read into that matter? The community agreed to it as a temporary solution until houses would be built on top of those plots and said that they would put up their own (temporary) walls for the toilets. Then, when it happened, suddenly, "Oh noes, we never agreed to this! No one ever asked me!" And now, the DA-led council is paying for them to have materials with which to build those walls. I, personally, believe that this is something which they should've been seen coming, and just built the walls to save themselves the inevitable change of mind, but, they didn't and now they have to deal with it as well as the negative publicity incurred.

The DA messed up, they're fixing it.

The ANC has made countless messes which to this day have still not been fixed. How much does that say about them?

And how many houses for the poor were contracted by private companies affiliated with the ANC instead of going to the poor?

The hypocrisy of the ANC is eternally evident.

I used to think that only the old and the relatively uneducated would be voting ANC in the last elections. Boy was I wrong! I have got cousins and some of my younger brother's friends that are nuts about the ANC. Some of my friends went the COPE way, I did not want anything to do with them, to me they were as corrupt as the mothership..err ANC.

At home, Four of us voted. My dad went ANC, even though he has been complaining for years about potholes that are filled up with sand. Louis Trichardt used to be neat, the public spaces were well kept, I know it was mostly meant for a select few. But there was no reason to let it go to waste like that. They inherited a functional municipality with a vast area to deal with, but it was still functional non-the-less. My mother, little bro and I went DA much to the dismay of my dad. It was a vote based on principles and not historical attachments.

The ANC are a formidable marketing machine, they know how to spin stuff and I am amazed by their disregard to their electorate. This country...man I don t know anymore!

I don't agree with you, but I fully understand your sentiment. And the majority of the ANC's support base don't even have the ability to debate/discuss the issue on a forum like you have. There needs to be a strong "black" alternative, from within the tripartite alliance, to allow a true viable democracy.

The DA has done a fantastic job in the WC. And I would love to see Zille have more opportunity to do it nationally, but the DA will never be a real alternative for the masses. Regardless of the reasons, it is a fact.
