Johannesburg - The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) must be educated in the basic principles of a peaceful democracy, AfriForum Youth national chairperson Ernst Roets said on Tuesday.

This, after AfriForum Youth handed a copy of the book Politics for Dummies to the ANCYL at its Luthuli House offices, in Johannesburg.

ANCYL spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said on Tuesday afternoon they did not receive the package.

He said the ANCYL would nevertheless not take the AfriForum Youth seriously.

"They are a group of racists, we cannot take them seriously."

He said AfriForum was trying "to get recognised" with its stunt.

"They want to be associated with people whose voices are taken seriously," said Shivambu.

Malema and the entire ANCYL should go **** themselves. NOT ONE of them suffered under apartheid yet they are the ones claiming this and that because of Apartheid. They weren't even affected by Apartheid.

It's amazing how these ppl get into key positions.

Ja neh. The ignorance of some people is just sad.

Go and look at townships boet, and tell me they did not or continue to some extent to suffer from the policies of the past. I suggest you also join the ANCYL in getting some education.
 
hang on ppl i have a big grudge against the ANCYL, you see they weren't affected by apartheid, their parents were, and yet they get nothing but the youth get everything that's the truth, and since when is a 28 year old youth? and how can he claim to be able to make mistakes because of his youth... well with no matric i suppose he has a point... They clearly contradict democracy with what they say and do, and advertise themselves and ANC as above the law (ja they clearly promote democracy BULLS***)

Oh please! You cant blame apartheid for everything. The rest of africa didnt have apartheid and it is full of townships worse than SA's. Ethiopia was never even colonised and it is worse off than almost all the rest.

The ANCYL just uses it for their anti-white propaganda.

You telling me out of the whole population of white people is SA, all of them would of still been in the same positon if it was not for apartheid? lol

There are plenty of poor whites, they just don't live in the townships. We've all seen the pictures on TV of how supportive the townships can be of foreign nationalities, so I very much doubt the "oppressors" would last long at all.

No, but we presume that they would be in a similar position to the countries that they came from. I'd expect them to have done similarly to people in the UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, etc. Apartheid for the most part had a pretty similar "benefit" system to BEE. Fat cats on the top get the huge perks (the mining industry, defence industry), and for the rest it's business as usual.
 
In Zimbabwe, a great deal of young people were claiming to be war veterans, and the standing joke was that they were in the Zimbabwean navy.

Why?

They were semen at the time of the Bush War.

Can't say I agree with what the ANCYL are doing but this was nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt for the Orania Party.

Btw, I didn't see apartheid mentioned anywhere in the article, maybe you guys need to let it go too.

I'm pretty sure that means nothing. He had his chance for education and a better life (except his parents).
Other countries built themselves up quite nicely after being directly oppressed

This is also what I take issue with, some of these so-called "war veterans" are younger than me, and I was a kid at then end of the Bush War.

The ANC took over in 1994, ending Apartheid, wtf have these guys been doing for the past 14 years?. I would say complaining about Apartheid, and not doing something to uplift themselves. If they couldn't be bothered to improve their situation, then don't come crying to me about it. And I am certainly not going to apologize for something that I had nothing do with, so they can forget that.

however lets take Swaziland as an example of how Africa works.

People live in abject poverty, government compound boasts Porsche 4x4 (cause the roads are so ****)

The point is that most of us whites live decent lives because Apartheid provided/[ensured] opportunity for whites.

A race vs. country is not entirely comparable.

And 14 years is a very short period. Some people expect too much to have happened in that time.

I don't agree with the premise that we live that much of a better life due to Apartheid. Again, compare our position with that of our European counterparts and we're not doing any better than them. You don't just generate "opportunity" at will, otherwise Mugabe would have been able to wave his magic "opportunity wand" and everyone in his country would have been rich.

Apartheid was a system to keep blacks down, but it didn't help that much to lift whites up. It's the same as BEE now, while it helps keep white people down it doesn't lift up the average black person that much. There are a few people at the top who can really benefit from, in the case of BEE, huge empowerment deal, or in the case of apartheid, cheap labour for the mines.
