Android 9 does not support call recording

I saw this previously, and got the Note 9, AND installed Android 9 ... my calls are recording, no problem

What are the negative implications on rooting ? I mean can you not access play store? What are the issues besides voiding warranty please
OTA updates, stuff like Netflix and DSTV Now and your banking app stop working.

Still works on my Xiaomi
And on Huawei.

I don't want to root & jump hoops. Going to take this into consideration when my upgrade is due towards the end of the year. On contract Huawei is probably the only option.

Need to find out more about this because the call recording is a key feature for my work
If you root, can you undo it ?
Yes.

There is also a call recording app that tricks your phone into thinking you're making a call using a Bluetooth headset and then call recording still works.

You can doubt as much as you want, I know what I hear when I play the calls back
Please share your secrets or actually you and listen to your calls. Your voice still gets recorded, the other persons voice doesn't.

please can you tell me what it is, desperate thanks, sorry you need to root first right?

Android 9.0 Pie, please be noticed:

  • In some countries a few Android 9.0 phones have the call recording feature enabled, so no root needed, Boldbeast records calls great.
  • In most countries most Android 9.0 phones have the call recording feature disabled. In recordings your own voice is good but the caller's voice is very weak, no matter what recorder you are using. In this case you should root the phone then Boldbeast can fix the problem perfectly. Without root you have no solution in the whole world undoubtedly (you can test and confirm the fact yourself), with root Boldbeast is exactly the solution.
  • For example, Pixel 3 Android 9.0 needs no root in China mainland but needs root in other countries. Many Android 9.0 phones (Samsung, Huawei, Moto, Sony, Xiaomi etc) are in the same situation - a specific phone needs no root in a few countries but needs root in most countries.

No secrets man.
Cube ACR was installed on Android 8
Upgraded to Android 9
Both sides of the conversation gets recorded

Thanks man so still need root.
Wonder if the fnb app will work
The thing is we don't know if we need root, we might be one of the countries where it works without and it's not just the country it's specific phones too, so you won't know until you try it.

Edit: See the above reply, Note9 on Pie, no root with call recording working.

@LandyMan Did you flash Pie yourself or was it an OTA update, which service provider and in your call setting do you see this:

I don't have the "Record Calls" available on my Device.
It was an OTA update on Vodaom

Thanks a lot for this.
After the update my N9 did not want to record.

With Cube ACR it's working again.

It looks like since Android 9 Google FoolPlay Services will decide whether you are allowed recordring or not. Depends on the country you are in and OEM settings..
