Android app bargains thread.

Humble Bundle name change or competition?

Anyway head over to http://www.indiegala.com/ and

Pay what you want for
Chimpact
Trainz Simulator
9th Dawn RPG +
Buy now and also unlocks second weeks mobile game

Pay over $4 and also get:
Bag it
Great big war Game
Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack!
Slender Man! Chapter 1: Alone
Trainz Driver
Buy now and also unlock 2 PC games in the second week

Thanks for the heads up! It looks like nothing more than a Humble Bundle clone site. Jones on Fire is 50% off in the Play Store btw, if you're into cats.

I know next to nothing about the above games. Bag It has rave reviews and is $1.99. Chimpact is a nice looking platformer for 99c. Trainz Driver is currently on sale for 99c but according to reviews does not work on the S3. Trainz Simulator doesn't seem to be on our store. 9th Dawn is a well received old school RPG for $2.99. Serious Sam looks okay and is 99c. I already own Great Big War Game, but it's very good and costs $2.99. Slender Man looks good and is 99c.

There are three more games that will unlock in the second week, and buying now will grant you access to them. The minimum you can pay to get everything is $3.84. Considering the normal price is $12 with three more games, it's a good deal. Humble Bundle blows it out the water though.

I hate having apps outside the Play Store, and only Bag It, Chimpact and Slender Man really appeal to me, and they cost $4. I'll wait to see what the extra three games are, but I don't think I'll be buying this bundle.

Feel the same, the 2 games on the list that would have made me go for it I already own, GBWG(Google 20c sale) and Slender Man(On iOS) so for me its not worth it. Oh and if you wanna check out the RPG game there is a free demo https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valorware.vw9thdawntechdemo also not my cup of tee.

A changelog app ... lol
Try it before you knock it.

Edit: Yes this isn't for everyone. I often wonder if it is worth updating certain apps (sometimes they break/ take away features), this looks like a easy way to check what is worth updating and what is not.

E.g. You wouldn't necessary want to update an app just because it now has added Portuguese support... Especially if you are capped and want to keep updates to a minimum.

My current android device is perma-connected to ADSL so cap is not a problem for me and I only update everything once in a blue moon in any case. A changelog app might be useful to some, I just do not see myself as one of those peeps. Heck, I cannot even recall when last I read a changelog...

Still wish for an App that auto backup before update with an option to roll back, Yes I know I can do this manually but imagine an app that does this the moment you click on update.

I use ES File manager to backup my apk's and DataSync(needs root) for app data. Yes I know about full backup on titanium, its not what I want. I just want something to backup the app that is updating at that moment.

I was like that till a couple of updates destroyed my save games.... now I am a bit weary as one thing I hate is losing progress on my games. Hence the Datasync so I even sync my game states across my devices.

Would be really great if Google comes up with a saved game sync/backup (to Drive) solution build into Android.

Sometimes the update breaks the app.

Example of a recent problem I had: XBMC remote, the latest version only supports Frodo and I haven't updated my server yet, the update broke the app for me...

Downloading this was a mistake...

I remember the game to be way better than this :(

Talk about the past that should stay in the past.
Haha also downloaded, I haven't played it in the past but can see why you could be disappointed :p.

I use it and like it, just annoys I have to buy a separate app for the tab....
