Android >>> iOS

more Sad people hate Android with all its options and Choose to limit themselves to idiotphone, but as you were.
Im never going to buy one, even after using it for a period of time.
What would you buy now instead, considering that a camera is important?

Ah - I do have another query !

My phone is dual SIM and I run my primary SIM in one slot, with a MyGig5 in the other slot just for the data.

With eSIM, this is no issue either ?

So happy for you

As an aside, I genuinely don't 'hate' Android - I just haven't found an Android phone available in South Africa that comes anywhere near the iPhone (at the same price point) in terms of the build quality, app quality, long term support of the operating system and interoperability with all my other devices that make up my workflow.

Funny thing is that I was an Android user for years until my beloved Z3C crapped out on me after just over 2 years of use (and treated like a newborn baby in all that time) - at the time there was nothing decent on the market from an Android perspective and my faith in Sony build quality was sorely tested so I thought 'fck it, let me give the Apple a shot' - haven't looked back since.

Impact is quite... impactful. Firstly no official ways to transfer whatsapp over. There are unofficial ways as mentioned above but you will find this out after its too late. Depending on what you use your device for it will be a mission to find alternative iOS apps for what you had on Android. All in all be prepared to spend money investing in apps because Apple charges for everything including dust cloth.
I found the opposite to be true.
Try finding an alternative to Plex for Android, then be baffled why VLC for Android lacks features that are in the iOS version.

Then find out Plex uses the default ExoPlayer which everyone hates, you can use an external player but then you it doesn’t track what’s being watched.

Paid and free options, which equally both suck.

Huawei p20, or a flagship Android phone with the best camera around, Vivo looks nice.
many options, all of them better than Idiotphones, literally anything else is a thousand times better than idiotphones.

but I guess I will never join the cult of Apple in a thousand years, even after using their dreaded devices for quite a while and still up till today, not seeing the point of them,
no matter how many people try to "convince" or "convert" me

Who is trying to convince/convert you?

How totally nasty of them, tell them to stop.

also had a Sony E3, never liked it, until my first Samsung, after the warranty gave up, gave rooting and modifying a go,
never looked back, bored with my phone, find a ROM load it, and its like a new phone, features come out of nowhere, I didn't even pay for.

I guess it all depends on what you want from a phone, some people want options and settings and to customize the experience to the nth degree.
others are happy with how it comes, and just say fck it, it works I couldn't be bothered.

Nothing has a better camera than the iPhone , barring a Xiaomi and Huawei that we can't get here.

If you take both of those out the equation, there's ... the iPhone ?

So, I'm really keen on phone camera quality - and (without starting an argument), Huawei have had the better camera and in general, they really have fantastic hardware. However, I dropped my phone and it now has a large crack over the screen so although, usable, I may need to upgrade after all this time .

Looking at the list of the top camera phones, it seems iPhone is the best balance as the units above it can't be had on contract (and tough to find locally). The S21 is a very good camera, but it seems not quite up there on the camera (albeit, it's a year behind) and more expensive than the iPhone. I've read the S22 is going to be even more expensive .
Note Samsung's Exynos chips are worse for battery life and photos as well, was actually noticeable in the S10 series (haven't checked up on newer).
Apple's got a pretty good camera but where it shines is video, don't think anyone competes there, with photos you can still argue Pixel line-up and others, my personal taste leans towards GCam over Apple's color science.
Plus, I think Huwaei is the only Android maker (or one of the few) to use Face ID ... which I like the idea of
Pretty much all Android have that support, baked in, but I'd not use it to secure my phone (it unlocks, sure, but e.g. banking forces use of fingerprint).
Outside of Apple, don't think anyone uses a proper infrared/depth mapping etc. as well, so you can pretty easily fool it. Apple has also improved it to finally check "attention aware", so you are actually looking at the phone to unlock.

Apple's hardware is good, only issue is the price, if you want to spend that flagship money, they're good, but you basically have no chance of easy repairs.

Better according to who ?

Although not everyone follows DXOMark, these are the top scoring .

Anyway - the query was more related to how to change Gmail / Whatsapp / contacts / Google Photos

one is trying to Convince me now! cant stay in their own lane and play with their idiot-phone quietly.
Don't see anyone trying to convince you.
Do see people pointing out ignorance and inaccurate information in your posts.

You are not big on comprehension I see, also not facts.

Edit: I hope you do not BS like this at work to try make a point as well.

if you do some searching around and stop drinking the kool aid so many options available with Android,
literally an avalanche of options, a lot of them far far superior to idiotphone.

but I guess when the Cult is recruiting members,
they lure you in with flashy logos and mediocre hardware, and before you know it, your a Isheep going Apple good, Android Baaaad...

no thanks, and I have one of their idiotphones right now, use it as a glorified hotspot for my Samsung.
will never in a thousand years, buy one, no sir!

even if it fell off the back of a truck

Are you sure it wasn't you that fell off the truck and landed on your head?

Android have 2D, like 99% of them

Apple and Huawei have 3D - I'm using IR depth mapping on my Huaweis

If I wanted to keep a great camera, and the 3D Face ID ... I've really got no other option. And as I mentioned, the S21/S22 are expensive
