Its a sad day when you have to finally accept that it's time to move on.

We have been having ongoing issues with being throttled during peak times to 10Mb download on a 100+ premium uncapped account on vumatel fibre. Off-Peak...
no problems.

After logging several tickets with all the test results, and very frustrating whatsapp support conversations, the defacto response is always "have you tried rebooting the router"

Two weeks later and no one has any feedback. The agents response to me wanting to cancel...

"Hi

Trust you well.

Please go to Client Zone....Connectivity...click on package....Edit Package....Cancel Service."

We're wanting to move our fibre service, domain hosting and RAIN LTE...Anyone have any reccomendations? Looked at Cool Ideas but it doesnt look like they do RAIN?

Thanks

I don't think any of the good independent fibre providers does RAIN LTE, but I may be mistaken.

Personally, I would move everything else to Cool ideas in the meantime, and then start looking for a seperate RAIN provideer, as more than likely all other providers will screw you with everything else.

We dont do RAIN as yet, but probably will do at some point. Their network is super saturated at the moment.

Also realistically they are all the same product so it doesn't really matter where you purchase it from.

The truth has been spoken! ;)

I Currently have the folks on RAIN, no fibre yet in their area. Also true, but I'm so frustrated with AH that I just want to move everything out

Anyways cancellation done....moving to CISP month end...

Cool let me know if you have any issues.

After 5 years I also had to move, to Telkom and pleasantly surprised how well it works for me.

Yes, leave afrihost adsl and saturate the fibre lines so that i can get my 10mbps adsl :D Im still happy with em.

I said the same thing. My ping on adsl during peak was 16ms. Also got full line speed during peak. 10Mbps fibre is still faster than 10Mbps adsl though for loading of web pages and video streaming, downloads are the same.

Must say I only had good service from Afrihost in the last couple years. First with ADSL only and then I added Rain, these days I only have Rain because I no longer need ADSL, but will go fibre if it gets to my area one day.
I'm also very happy with Rain speeds, hitting on average 40 down and 20 up, at times in the day a bit slower and at times a lot faster.

A friend of mine is not so lucky with his Rain and Afrihost service though, last month right at the start of the month his Rain connection died and when it came back on 48 hours later all his data was used up. Afrihost can't explain to him how his 50 GB could have been used up while he had no service, they can see he had no service and accept that part, but on the other hand say his data was used during that time.
