G'day...

Sure some-one can help me ...

Ive got 3 x Intellinet Active Networking AP's ( 54/108 Mbps Wireless Super G Access Point / Bridge ) ( http://www.intellinet-network.com )

Is it possible to create a network like this: ( this is the simplest way I can explain this :) )

Internet -> ADSL router -> 1st AP -> 2nd AP -> 3rd AP -> wifi devices

(there will be more devices connecting to 1st and 2nd AP too .. )

Will the devices on the far side of the router be able to connect to the internet and also browse the lan?

Thanks a mil... cant wait to get a response!!

Cheeeers!

Welcome Arri,

Give us a little more detail as to why you would want to use all three access points in this way? One access point would be fine to cover your home, provided you do it right.

Why do u want to use all three?

Hi Ryder

Thanks for the quick response...

The things is that its a 3 level house. The internet connection comes in on the 1st floor, and the guy wants internet access everywhere...

Ive installed 1 AP in on the 1st floor, wich coveres more or less the entire level, but as soon as you move arround in the house to the next floor, it looses signal very quickley. suppose the metal, cement and brick is killing the signal strenght...

Will putting an AP on each floor not solve this issue or is their any other suggestions that i can try ...

Thanks!!

you can try WDS mode if these APs have it

or just wire the APs together on each floor

hehe, ive tried the "wire" suggestion, but because the house is build in such a modern way, its not an option (visibility reasons).

WDS: ? What is it, how does it work and how do i know if the AP's have this functionality ?

Thanks for the assistance so far...

Ryder...

Okay, google'd WDS. Now I know a bit more about it. The AP's can be setup to be the following:

AP
AP PTP
AP PTMP
AP REPEATER
AP Client

Any Ideas?

well if 2 can operate in repeater and the 3rd in access point mode that will work, if all 3 ap's can see each other

Thanks

how will i configure the 2 repeaters? Do i put the main AP's mac in the 2nd AP's settings and the 2nd AP's mac in the 3rd? (or also the the main)

Your original suggestion should work, and probably would be the easiest for you, the main problem being to pull cable. You may also need to add a switch if your adsl router does not have sufficient ports.

Install a cable from the adsl router (switch) to each floor and set up the additional floors as you have done for the current one. Only change might be to IP address on AP.
