Anti rape pledge at schools

Often a raped girl/women will go to a police station, wait for hours and hours to make a statement and is sent on her merry way without so much as a basic medical examination. So all you have at the end of the day is another statistic with no evidence, rapist walks. This is happening all the time on an alarming scale. Just phone Operation Bobby Bear in Amanzimtoti, they'll tell you all about it. It's all fine and well to pledge, but the real rot is the police, the justice system and how they deal with the victims and the perpetrator. Don't let the ANC fool you with this pledge smokescreen. Until I see the government get their act together with the treatment of the victims and rapists, they can say whatever they like it means jack fkn squat to me, just words, words and more talk.

Secondary victimization in the criminal justice system is worrying.
 
The problem is that the judicial system cannot just victimise the people that have had complaints lodged against them willy nilly.

SA is a poor country. The justice system can't be FIRST WORLD in a country where most people are poor.

Same with the state health care. They employ 1-2 doctors and 3 nurses to run an emergency unit for 100,000+ people in a high crime area where children play on streets and unlicensed drivers drive around and drug/alcohol use is high. Then some idiot reporter comes in and expects these 5 people to work as though they're at John's Hopkins, where staff would also not be able to cope if they did not have at least 10x as much staff and a system which works in all aspects and which is monitored in all aspects.

I re-iterate what I said, the rot is with the justice system, this general malaise towards crime and well, a president accused of rape. They are the fundamental disease that's allowing this chaos to go un dealt with. Zuma is the problem and a big one.

What did it become?

There is no surprise then when (such as last week observed at Wimpy Fourways) a kid of about 8 years says "Mum, dad, you are both effen stupid" and the parents just look at each other and carry on as nothing had happened.

Doesn't sound like anything did happen. Only the parents can really say though. I've heard children repeat some choice phrases. Can be quite funny.

If you are a parent and are involved with your kids at school, you will know that teachers are unable to enforce any discipline as parents will complain.

Frankly there's nothing a school can do anyway. Parents will be a primary influence.

And, although bullying is a big NO at schools, nothing really ever gets done about it.

We've certainly seen how these lists are abused by the state in other countries.

So what if he was accused? Was there sufficient evidence to convict? If not, how do we know the accuser didn't lie? We've seen that women and girls aren't above making false accusations to get at someone.

Without definitive evidence of threats or physical force being employed rape is a crime which is fundamentally difficult to prove. And that's as it should be. By design the state is required to have extremely strong evidence in order to imprison someone, and there's no valid reason to loosen those requirements for rape.

It's a worldwide thing, and something governments encourage. They don't want adults, but a nation of children who live their lives as their leaders dictate.

Wow! It's attitudes like these that trivialise the trauma of rape and forces the victim to have to continue to defend herself even after the rape.

This is ridiculous. Tell a kid not to drink alcohol enough,guess what he will. This will just make rape more interesting to kids
