If it does not, then its arguable that they are unilaterllay changing the terms of the contract. If you are in this situation, which I am not, I suggest you read the conrtact very carefully. Banks like doind stuff like this. We charge you fees which are X rand, or as may be notfied by us from time to time. If its in there, then they can pretty much do it, but if the contract does not contain the necessary detail, you can tell them to fkuk that cat I was talking about earlier!!!

I signed my contract months ago... like almost 1 year and a half ago... so maybe I can use that and say this wasn't in the contract.

READ teh contract and see what it says. Just because they did not charge you last month does not mean anything. the contract WILL, if their lawyers are worth their salt, contain a no indulgences caluse. Which means just because htey dont enforce somehting on one occassion it doenst mean that they forfeit that right or that the terms of the contract have been changed by their action/ommission/indulgence.

i heard through the grapevine that after the promotion, the entire packages are gonna cost slightly more than the current R269 for the 3gb. so it's nothing to worry about. however, i stand under correction.

Yep. I don't know why anyone would be downloading 100GB+ when you know it's meant to be charged at R22.50/GB?

What did you think was going to happen, you should assume that they will charge you when that is exactly what they have said. :/

Problem is that they informed their clients that they were going to be charged. I am sure that somewhere in their terms and conditions or contracts, that noone ever reads, they indemnify themselves , allowing them to change certain aspects of their offers.

spoke to a friend (lawyer) - he says contract terms/conditions can be adjusted by means of public media releases (tv/newspaper/radio/official report).
