My stats got reset yesterday... back to 0BG. Dammit, gonna be harder now to reach 225GB again :D

Capped!

I just got capped.

At about 39gigs up and down.

so watch out...

Maybe another "heavy user" (I use that term loosely) could keep going full speed and see when they get nailed.

True I'm not arguing that Telkom dont have access to far more capacity then they provision/budget for. They could easily allow the minority of power users to have their fill without degradation of the total service, but thats a profitability issue.

The fact that their traffic averaging (from Nov) has allowed a some users to utilise copious amounts of traffic means that their average must be < 3Gigs, therefore supporting their claims.

I believe their average is lower than 3GB, it's a logical consensus because majority of users don’t have a big understanding of the ADSL spectrum and are then too paranoid to use ADSL as a broadband service.

I know most of our users don’t exceed 3GB and when they do they phone and complain telling us how careful they’ve been and all they use it for is email.

I’m for users “abusing” the service, because as stipulated ICASA findings, Telkom is misinterpreting the uses for broadband internet and punishing users for utilising the service for what it was intended. (Multimedia, gaming and downloading).

Telkom also does not mention on their website or in any other marketing or contractual material, what you can and can’t do with ADSL. Should they choose to average bandwidth, then they should be made to deal with the users that choose to properly utilise the service.

The fact that you choose to utilise the 512k or 1024k line you pay so much for; cannot legitimately or legally make you an abuser.

Im just below 20 gigs still uncapped. Hopefully ill make it through the month with out having to buy a new account.

you have roughly 40 / 50 megs left, not like thats even going to last you for the rest of the month. Hammer it.

I took a TelkomInternet 3gb account (on top of my WA Acc.) at the beginning of December. At the moment I am sitting on 29gb, and still not capped.

@nonick, the 40 odd megs you have left is not gonna last until the end of the month, so like sunsoffun said, hammer it!!! :D

Well just from surfing last night, i went over it and I got the email from telkom today that, i have used 3.03gb and that should I reach my 3gb cap i will
be directed to a throttled international service (what happened to hard cap, still there?), but ya. gonna rape it now
