The fact that their traffic averaging (from Nov) has allowed a some users to utilise copious amounts of traffic means that their average must be < 3Gigs, therefore supporting their claims.
AmenCarlhead said:I believe their average is lower than 3GB, it's a logical consensus because majority of users don’t have a big understanding of the ADSL spectrum and are then too paranoid to use ADSL as a broadband service.
I know most of our users don’t exceed 3GB and when they do they phone and complain telling us how careful they’ve been and all they use it for is email.
I’m for users “abusing” the service, because as stipulated ICASA findings, Telkom is misinterpreting the uses for broadband internet and punishing users for utilising the service for what it was intended. (Multimedia, gaming and downloading).
Telkom also does not mention on their website or in any other marketing or contractual material, what you can and can’t do with ADSL. Should they choose to average bandwidth, then they should be made to deal with the users that choose to properly utilise the service.
The fact that you choose to utilise the 512k or 1024k line you pay so much for; cannot legitimately or legally make you an abuser.
you have roughly 40 / 50 megs left, not like thats even going to last you for the rest of the month. Hammer it.nonick said:Dont know if I should do it, i've used 2.96gb, so uhh. kinda fingered 4 the month, but ya? hmmm wonder if i should try it? Any advice? PS my dad prob will kill me If i go over.
