Surprisingly or not, it is cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Tab (at R7/$ exchange, adding shipping and Vat it comes out at ~R7000 for the 64GB+3G), I'm not even comparing it to the low end ones, but the 64GB top range. Silly Samsung!

No you don't. You can connect to the iStore remotely and when you do get around to docking with your PC or MAC it will sync those DLs back.

Software updates? you could not even get an ipad untill a few weeks ago....through proper channels that is....
If thats the case then yes...you can even get honey comb on your droid

It would certainly be interesting to try. At 800 MHz, the performance / coverage would be better than 2.1 GHz, even if it's only in some areas. Also, it would be fun to have an iPhone that can make calls at 17c per minute.
What? Still no Memory card slot? Not even MicroSD? And no USB ports? Moving right along then...

The power of the iPad - compared to other tablets - lies not in the hardware put in the 65000 native iPad apps available for it. Xoom for example has only 16 so far. Sure, Android tablets will under 3.x get thousands of apps developed for it, but Apple has 65,000 at the launch of the iPad 2. That is where the difference lies. No good having fantastic hardware but very little to run on it.
Thats about the only bad thing, Jobs' restrictive dont need it (usb/SD ect.) mentality and reality distortion field :wtf:
Got to give them credit where its due, like that ipad2 cover!!
So simple yet so effective..nobody else thought about doing that before

I thought this was a pretty laughable statement so I moseyed on over to apple's site to see what's what. After having a look through their list of new features that supposedly moves, not raises mind you, the bar, I'm struck by a recurring thought, sombodydunnit already, and dunnit betta.
This is a quote direct from apple's ipad 2 site;

Apple have won the battle because they had a head start, they have a fantastic brand with millions of loyal (read ignorant) fans and great marketing. Suggesting that their OS is the reason is a ridiculous. Their operating system is great, if you like simple, unthinking rocks. Pretty looking rocks, sure. And 3rd party aps helped, ok. But really, who are they trying to kid. Oh... right.
What's also interesting is that apple hadn't released anything on iOS4 prior to launch, aside from, hey safari is quicker (i.e. nothing to make you go wow, awesome) whereas honeycomb features were announced up the whaazoo and there was plenty of awesome. Makes me think they're holding back to allow their early adopting, trendy vintage clothes wearing sycophants the opportunity to make an impulse buy before they know what they've done.
Yeah ok, that's a bit harsh. They will love it regardless.

Say what you want about Apple's arrogance and Apple user's occasional ignorance of all things not Apple, IOS is very hard to beat for sheer usability, slickness and simplicity. As a user of both IOS and Android platforms, I do appreciate Android's flexibility and openness, but have to concede that as an OS for the masses, IOS is extremely elegant, intuitive, stable and smooth in comparison. IOS generally passes the "can my mom use it out the box?" test while Android, not so much.
