Apple iPad 2 launched

"Accessories"

No SD card reader?

Buy the "Docking Station" which has microUSB -- only costs a *few* dollars more.

IF there is NO easy way to get into the thing then I am not interested.

FORCING you to cough up more for the embedded Internal memory.

I want the iPad 2 for its eye candy but i already have a MBP.

I would probably get sick of the iPad after a month.

I do all my emails and video watching on my HTC desire HD and everything else on my MBP.

Dont really see the need for a tablet?

Good news, this will push current tablet prices lower.

All you moaners are idiots if you can't see this release as good News

Love the iPad, it's the awesomez

Uhm, no.

They didn't bring much to the table IMHO. But, as always, the apple outjies will scoop this up and sing to the high heavens about how much better this is than anything out there. Me, I'll be waiting another year or so to see what Android comes up with. They're already impressive, but time will tell.

Not so sure about Steve's statement that everyone is scrambling to copy the first iPad - some of the Android tablets were better right of the bat. And is still better than even the iPad 2.

Personal Hotspot: this is very interesting. I wonder if it will be limited to the new iPad/iPhone 4 combo or if older iPads will also be able to use it? As an iPhone 4 user I would now be on the hunt for an iPad 1 at bargain prices.

Well for once it seems the androids are coming out with the better features first. Nothing about this pad beats the already announced android tablets.

It seems the turning point has been reached. It was inevitable considering you have one manufacturer going up against many.

Still, apple laid the groundwork so kudos to them.

On another note, every time that arrogant schmuck Jobs opens his mouth he spews bile about his competitors. I just have to resist getting on a plane, going to his house and and and... /censored/

Sent from my apple stomping, berry crushing droid! Samsung Galaxy S.

Except next Friday tens of thousands of people will have physical working actual second generation iPads in their hands and 15 million others will be updating to the second major dot release of software for their "old" iPads.

How many of these super-duper "droids" can people actually get their hands on?

Seems like that >90% market share of the iPad is telling. BTW these "droids", they're gonna be MUUUCCCHHH cheaper than the iPad right - sorta like the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab. And you're definitely going to be able to get the software updates for them? And there'll be no problems getting the thousands of apps available for them to actually run, right?

I hear there's a special on at Incredible Corruption - you can go and stock up on USB flash drives to expand on your storage.

And by better you mean they have more functions, do things easier, cost less and are actually available for sale?
Like the RIM Playbook? The one that's been "announced" three times and is still nowhere to be seen?

Why is it, that whenever apple have anything to say the media lose the plot and fall over themselves to report on it. Apple seem to literally do nothing (well almost) when it comes to marketing..the media basically lose the plot and do all Apples marketing for free.

You will probably at some point find a write up about the new ipad 2, even in some crappy knitting magazine or 'The Horse and Hound':D.

I don't think I have ever seen an Apple ad, but that could just be me.

iSteve could stand up and start talking about a piece of poo...THE NEW iTurd..and the media would drop thier pants to be the first to report on it.

Bwahahahha!

Yeah, R8000 for a small screen, 16gb Galaxytab model.... and they say we are the stupid ones....rofl

That thing doesn't even have smooth animation when rotating it!

That means Cell C should work then?

From: http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/ (a useful page as opposed to ooooh wow type page)

That fact right there would make me purchase this. My current iPad will not allow high speed on the 900Mhz band, so I cant make use of my high speed Cell C data with the iPad. I was hoping they would include this, if they hadn't, then it would have been a deal breaker for me

How come no-one seems excited that there's a chance they can get iPad 2 and iPhone 4 on Neotel now that they support CDMA EV-DO Rev. A?
