Apple iPhone 5 unveiled

The longer the iPhone becomes the more suitable it will become to slide into SnorCity safaripak socks ... like they used to do with combs in the 70's. iPhone & Grasshoppers ... LOL!
 
I see the Apple share price is at all time following this announcement in stark contrast to the Nokia share which slid even as they unveiled a better device (according to geekdom anyway).
 
LOL @ Cerebus. The accessory manufacturers that relied on the old connector will be selling current stock at discounts now and hope to sell the same stuff to Apple owners again (with new connector). So it is with the milking process.

The Apple vs Samsung court case used witnesses exactly like those ...

BestBuy Salesperson: "This is an Apple iPad ... ignore the Samsung logo on the device and box ... it is an iPad"
Shopper: "Okay, if you say so."

Two days later ... back to the BestBuy shop ...

Fool: "My kids say this is not an iPad! I want my money back, now!"
 
As I stated throughout the Samsung vs Apple case ... the outstanding feature of the case is showing the world how stupid Americans can be. They can't read logos on devices and boxes (and on all the printed material in the boxes). These people supported the invasion of Iraq on the "convincing evidence" presented to them by their trusted Government!!!

I guess it was necessary to reduce the device footprint but IMO that is a bit of slap in the face.

I do like that the new adapter works in any orientation. For me that was the surprise of the keynote!!!

All my charges are plugged in and reside in a draw attached to my desk. I'm always fiddling, trying to find the right way up!!!!

Wonder if they'll be shipping with new devices? Doubt it. Another slap!!! Or is it a punch?

That video proves that the average joe is relatively naive when it comes to the latest tech releases. Having said that most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 4 and 4s in under 20 seconds.

EDIT: Looking forward to moding this beast post jailbreak. Fakeclockup coupled with A6 processor should be nothing short of scintillating. Add to that iWdiget and Dashboard x and that extra screen real estate comes in handy.

The realy sad thing about the new iPhone is that we will not see the same price drops in SA that they get in the US. Well unless you buy secondhand that is.

iPhone 5 = iPhone 4s price
iPhone 4s = old iPhone 4 price
iPhone 4 = Free on contracts

iPhone 4, in my eyes is good enough to compete against cheaper Androids or even BB's. That is if you exclude the data costs and use wifi hotspots only.

The flyover demo in that video was astonishing. I love that they're beginning to execute on real 3D GPU-driven applications. That's definitely where the future is of smartphone apps.
