Mmmmm, I call fake on that jailbreak.
There viable alternatives to the native maps app so that isn't an issue for me either.
As for the scuffs, out of the box scuffs are only half the problem. How's the phone likely to look after a few months of heavy usage?
As for alternatives, there plenty, but none running iOS.
iOS is 70% of the appeal as far as I'm concerned.

Not a clue about that, one would need to read up more and see how it fares over time.
I'm in the same boat as sand_man, definitely want to handle one in a shop first before I settle on it. If I chose to upgrade to something else it would probably be the One X... SGS3 is not to my taste and the lumia doesn't have the apps.

The new OneX with Tegra3 looks great, have you seen that?
Ja but I'm not one to get blown away by specs... the OneX was already very snappy and it will be a few years untill something in the app store can max it out.
I'm probably going to get an iPhone though, I love my collection of apps and I'm not about to give up on them too easily.

Just for the sake of those of us who are not familiar with iOS, what sort of apps would you be referring to? I was under the impression that most of the top app developers develop for both platforms now and, if not, there is something similar that does the job.
Or are you referring to having to pay for them again on another platform?

I would assume so. I'll stick with Android unless it crashes and burns spectacularly for the very same reason.

I could answer that easily enough by comparing the app selection on my iPad2 vs my Sony.

One thing Android lacks is http://appshopper.com/prices/ and http://www.appgratis.com/
Sure they have the R2 sale once in a blue moon or the Amazon Free app of the day, but its no where close to the barguns I picked up on Apple. For example I have a crap load of games, Office apps and even Whatsapp that I got all for free thanx to the above on iOS.
Not to mention some Developer sales that regularly comes to Apple's way ie:

Well in that case you do know its easier to pirate on iOS than Android?
Android you have to Google and whatnot to find one that finaly works, on iOS you JB, installious and your sorted, "demo" apps are just a click away.

To be fair, when apps are like R10 each for the most part I really don't mind buying the few I use regularly. Paying a couple of grand for a PC OS...? I'm right there next to ya', swigging rum and swabbing decks.

I have learned ages ago that US courtrooms is not about justice but about who can afford better lawyers. How else do you explain the same claims in US to not work in EU?
That said, I still believe Samsung loooooves to copy, but they try to make it close enough not to confuse but to give people the ability to have close to the same experience. Apple & fans might see it as bad practice, Android & fans might see it as uniformity in experience. Whatever it is I just wish people could leave it out of the dam courtrooms and let the better product win simply via end users voting with their wallets.

Perhaps Apple should not be counting the billion+ from Samsung just yet, the fat lady has not sung... yet.
Articles still appear stating almost as done deal this payout... perhaps they too should wait and see before giving Apple the dollarz awarded.
Aaaaand what happens to Samsung stock price if, and just if, this verdict is overturned ? Groklaw seems to make a very compelling case against the ruling standing. Can the damage be undone ? What happens next ? Hmmmmm.
