Sorry to burst your bubble boys and girls. But Apple has decided not to release the Iphone in SA. Saw the story a while back but thought it was hearsay but its official now.

what ive heard from some "friends" in the states is, apple is smiling, they are selling thousands of units outside of the AT&T deal. they knew it was going to happen, and everytime they plead for us not to crack the phone, they are only doing that to keep their deal with AT&T happy. wouldnt surprise me if on the every new release the apple dudes sit around in a dark basement , "ok what doors have we left open, there must be at least 3 open, but dont tell anyone". hey its all about money isnt it

They're making it pretty difficult for non-US residents to buy the phones. I had them automatically cancel an order when they picked up my SA credit card.

So, right now you have to buy it in the US, with a US credit card and ship it to a US address. Then you can ship it back home.
