Apple just sucks - full stop.

So a friend asked me tonight if I have an older version of itunes, because she is unable to sync her ipod with the latest version of itunes.

I told her that I've had my two years with itunes and my iPhone 3G and not interested in anything ipad, iPhone, etc related.

But then she told me that she gave her ipad away, because of the itunes crap and that she really just wants to put some music on her ipod.

My question is....should I offer to help her, or just tell her to try and figure it out on her own?
 
Funny that you should write this. I've had a series of some very frustrating days with Android that I came to the conclusion an hour ago: Android just sucks - full stop. So ...

They all sux! There are just different colours and flavours of sux. You choose your sux, and I choose mine.

Well, she wants me to help her, but I REFUSE to install itunes on my computer ever again.

But she doesn't have a computer....so what do I do now? *sigh*

With Android it's so easy, just plug in, drag and drop and it's done. But itunes, it's create account first, then import folders into itunes, then sync - just don't have time for this crap. :(
 
Serioiusly guys ... things are not as they should be considering what we pay for them. We're all in this together.
 
I have a little iPod shuffle. I use it just fine without iTunes.
I have a python script that I downloaded online, written by some awesome dude who hates iTunes as much as I do.
It turns the iPod into a music-playing USB drive.
You can drag and drop your music to the iPod like any other USB device and then before you unplug it you just run the Python script and it builds all the stuff your iPod needs to work. It also creates the shuffle lists etc.

I really don't remember the name now. Just google for Python iPod Script, you should find it.
Works like a bomb.

Maybe I should just tell her to buy a new iPod, cos that is what Apple wants her to do?

Then it will sync with the latest version of itunes?

Can I just email the script to this girl and she will know how to use it? She is not very technical.
 
I hear you Kingrob. Flippen pain to work through iTunes. Maybe hit the songs in with a hammer? If the iPod breaks it will solve the problem for both of you.
 
Yes, help her. It's what a friend does.

I also refuse to install imperialistic apps like iTunes. Zune isn't as bad, but needed for my WP7 device. Thankfully MS has started decoupling Zune and WP7.

Damn Bevonk!, I'm tearing my hair out.

She really wants help, but she is a financial manager, not an IT support engineer.

I want to help her, but I made a pledge never to install itunes on my pc again. Dunno how to help her. :(
 
if you install it on your pc it will erase all of her music and sync your. GG apple well played there. My wife cant put new music on her iphone 4 because the laptop she originally synced it to is gone. Now its either lose all the stuff on it and start again or live with what is on it.
