Aramex global shopper

So after 10 days of being "In Transit" and failed email attempts to [email protected], I have now made some progress.

The local person to email is [email protected]

In my case the address that I used ages ago when I joined Aramex Global was a PO box address. This is a big problem for Aramex. When they see that, they put your parcel in the corner, and hope the problem will go away. They don't even try contacting you.

I have now asked them to add a physical address, and they are passing my parcel along to the Clearance team.

Oh, and even though your ID number is part of your Global Shopper profile, it might speed things up if you just email that to them while your parcel is on its way.

Hmmm.

Got a new order coming from USA and I get an error saying order cannot be found when selecting tracking number from the dashboard.

I could still pay shipping cost and can track via aramex.com.

But cannot load invoice.

Anyone else had this happen? Any advance or contact references to help resolve?

Your adblocker may be blocking the loading of the data, it loads via ajax, and the URL contains the work 'track'. Disable you adblocker or use a browser without one installed.

Indeed. Have realized for a while now, AGS website dont like adblockers. At least there no annoying ads on their site, so to whitelist it, is a no-brainer.

Brought an item from Amazon and it just arrived at the NY address. Just waiting for aramex to ask me for the payment.. I hope I do not get some of the issues some people faced.

If it is anything that Amazon sell, such as the Echo or Echo Tap it will instantly go into customs.
Same with the Google Home and Google Home Mini.
Customs love those.

I see that they asked me to pay for shipping and additional services but VAT is empty. I hope they do not charge me again when it gets to SA.

Have not used Aramex in a while but this was a pleasant surprise. Logged in US on 17.02 and currently clearing customs in JHB. Should be delivered on Friday in CT.

Neat.

The increase in prices from last year to this year was definitely not a pleasant surprise.

I got the Google Home for $63.99, or about R749. Shipping was R409. Duty was R213.45.
Total R1371.45

I got the second Google Home for $58.20,or about R680. Shipping was R333.21. Duty was R201.34.
Total R1214.55

These are the Google Home. The Google Home Mini is much smaller and most times does not attract duty.

How does Flex work? Do you have to let them know how many packages are due for delivery?

That is a question to ask Aramex Global Shopper directly.
I think a lot of people are using FNB accounts to pay as you get R75 off when you put the first 6 digits of your FNB card and then SHIP (123456SHIP) into the promo section before checkout.
This R75 off option is better than using Flex.

I am coming in VERY late on this thread. Signed up to AGS and ready to order a phone from souq.com in Dubai and using AGS. What's the bottom line on this Aramex service and people's experiences - good bang for buck or a hair pulling experience? I see the Aramex Dubai depot address given to me by Aramex is right at Dubai International, so it should be plain sailing to JHB and then customs...

I have never used the Dubai Origin.
I have used Shanghai, Slough (UK), Istanbul, Hong Kong, Kelsterbach (Germany), Singapore, Ontario, New York & Japan.
The one to avoid is Istanbul as most suppliers do not deliver to the warehouse district.
Slough, Hong Kong and Germany are super-fast. New York is semi-fast. Japan and Shanghai are slow. The rest fall somewhere in the middle - 2-3 days before JHB notifies you that the parcel is on its way.
As Dubai is a main hub you should see your parcel received and spat out to JHB super-fast, but it will be interesting to know.

Thanks for the great feedback! I am excited to try out their service. souq.com has a Mi Max 2 (I am trying not to and rather wait for the 3) and a great priced Huawei P10 which my dad wants. I may pull the trigger on the P10 soon and I'll give feedback on the AGS experience.

My Gearbest bought Mi A1 went through Dubai with Aramex and there were no issues. As you say, Dubai is a major air-freight hub, so it should shoot across to JHB from there.
