This R75 off option is better than using Flex.

Thanks, for now there's little reason to use Flex except when purchasing from multiple sellers. Pity there's no choosing between the two options as the need arises.

Had a parcel delivered to the Thailand address and it did a cross over to Dubai. It was fast - 3 days from Thailand to Dubai to Johannesburg warehouse to destination.
 
How bad is Aramex and charges any idea I bought a phone for Around 2000R what will the chargers be ?

If your phone was about $170(about R2000), you are looking at South African Duty of about R550.
This is only an estimate, based on 7% and VAT, but it should be close.
Note that SA customs will also charge you duty on any postage from your supplier to the Aramex origin, so if there is shipping you also have to add this into your R2000 price. It's unfair, but that how they roll.

Regretfully it happens all too often. I bought an iPhone 4 a year ago from the UK they also nailed me on. I finally got the phone, and it was activation locked. I got my money back from eBay, but never the SA duty I had to pay.
 
I was under the impression, based on earlier discussions in this thread, that shipping phones via Aramex are a big no-no due to theft?

Ebay said I could keep it and refunded my money. It was stolen, along with other items, 2 months later when a burgler broke into my house.

As it is, as far as I know it is illegal for us to ship counterfeit (or activation locked) items, period.

This would include sending an activation locked phone back to the original supplier. He would only re-sell it.

Who told you that? :confused:

Still, I can see why SARS didn't refund your fees, you still had the phone.

I received my first Aramex delivery yesterday - I ordered a Moto Z cover off amazon and it was all fairly painless.
