Thank you @DeeinSouthAfrica

This is where i get a bit lost:
"Since then, it's changed our lives (better? worse?) and become second nature for those of us living in China. "
"Here is where you enter your Chinese bank card number. You can add foreign debit and credit cards here too, but to add funds into your Alipay balance you’ll need to add the Chinese one first. "

Do you have an Chinese bank account? And did you provide them with your ID/Passport?

I gave them my FNB Debit card, and I gave them my South African ID number.

I ordered a part for my friends super bike from eBay UK which was delivered on the 21st by Hermes. To date the AGS app/ website has no info about it. How do I go about about finding out what's going on with my parcel? The JHB call centre keeps asking me 'What would I like them to do' when I call.

I'm having the same issue with the UK Aramex office. What makes it worse, my item was shipped without a tracking number.

Aramex is a waste of space on this planet.

2 Packages from China - basically the same thing with a very minor weight difference.
One went DHL, one went Aramex
The Aramex was 50% cheaper than the DHL

DHL : Took 4 days from China to Johannesburg. 1 day to clear customs, 1 day to deliver.
Aramex: Took 5 days from China to Johannesburg. 3 days it sat at customs with no emails and they told me no invoice for payment yet then they sent me an invoice finally.
8 days later, it cleared customs. They kept blaming OR Tambo Customs.. (weird no one else does..)
2 days later they deliver it.

DHL: 6 days to door
Aramex: 18 days to door.

Will next touch Aramex again.

Email jnb@aramexglobalshopper.com with the tracking number and explain that it hasn't shown up in your account for x days.
Once it's above 3 days they do investigate it, and it will probably be found in the origin to have been missing your AGS account number.
I've found quicker results by phoning them, 011 457 3000, then global shopper option

Quite simply put:

DHL is express.
Aramex Global Shopper is Economy.
Aramex do have an Express option for people in a hurry for their shipments.

Your parcel waited for space on the airplane. If the plane was full of Aramex Express shipments your parcel got bumped off.
In SA at customs your parcel waited for Aramex to first clear the Express shipments, as those people paid way more for fast service.

Aramex Global Shopper is a cheap and sometimes nasty service, but you do receive your parcel eventually.

Yes, it's slow, but you get what you pay for.

I also have a quick question.

Bought an item from a person on a forum website in the US (kinda like MyBB classifieds.
Sent the $ using paypal as a gift to ensure the seller get the amount he was asking. The item is enroute to AGS, so I need to make up an invoice for this.

Do I specify the amount I wanted to pay to the seller, or the amount+paypal-fee. The reason I ask, paypal shows $60 dollar payment, but with the fee included its $67.95, and obviously the bank statement will match the 67.95 in Rand.

Should I put 60 or 67.95 on the invoice I create?

Interesting view, probably explains the speed difference. I was expecting my Aramex parcel to come at the speed of the DHL one.

Do 67.95, just make up your own commercial invoice. They don't normally request proof of payment.

I had to make up my own when receiving replacement computers parts from the USA, as its replacement it does not have invoice with it, as I did not pay anything.

I dont expect them to ask proof of payment, but just in case they do I dont want to have to back paddle and get things fixed. Strangely enough, I have once been asked for my paypal proof of payment on an item that actually had an invoice. So its not common, but can happen.

But yeah, thank you, let me go with the 67.95
