Happiness as all my addresses now appear in shopnship app as well as on ags mobile website.

Now to see what to buy. How does AGS shipping costs compare to amazon usa where they willing to ship to south africa?

Normally couriers work Saturdays and if you pay Sundays

There will be movement on weekends between and inside airports & customs, but your parcel won't move to another location inside SA or be delivered on a weekend. If it already left the airport then it will say transit until next week.
 
Package received at NY on the 4th, and it arrived in JHB now on the 8th. Thats not bad. But it is time for customs...and it will only start on Wednesday now though.

There is no such thing, its an electronic entry and if done properly its a couple of minutes.
Its mind boggling how aramex are still so inefficient at clearing parcels. Pity, because if they sorted that out it would elevate them from an average service to a brilliant one, but their clearing department is a bit of a mess, high turnover of staff, poor training and not enough people.

yeah, pathetic, it should have been cleared by 11:30- knowing aramex they haven't even submitted the docs yet.

Your prayer pic worked for me - R464.14 waltzed through JHB and is now in Cape Town somewhere.

I swear that tomorrow morning I am going out to the front to sign for it with my very accurate digital scale under my arm and I am gonna weigh it there and then and find out if AGS had a right to charge me an extra R99 for being over 500g. I bet they just did a "thumb-suck". :mad:

Seems the service is really good until the moment it lands in SA.

2 deliveries, 2 hold-ups, both times related to something in SA. Outside our borders it seems to be functioning like a normal first world entity would.

There is no such thing as stuck in customs, there is no such thing.
All it means is that aramex haven't gotten around to doing the electronic submitting of your parcel/documents, thats all.
This is where the hold up is in the aramex set-up, their inefficient clearance staff.

Yes it's inefficient and annoying, but you are more so.

lol, take a chill pill sweety.

I use aramex global as well, best SAPO alternative!.

Just hoping that one day someone will read these issues and fix them, because emailing them as you know doesn't help.

There is also a misconception that parcels go through customs, which is not the case, they sit at the couriers cage, so yeah, I will continue bitching about their clearance until they jack it up.

edit: But yeah, as you mentioned, postbox-courier and myus way more efficient..add to that Stackry as well, they also have their advantages.
