so use the AGS one?
Not such a good idea using the Aramex address as your billing address. It takes only a moment for a clued up person to look at the numbers on the front of your card and realise that it's a South African card.
Case in point - try to subscribe to Amazon music using your card. Talk about a big fat fark u, china .
If you try it in the Google store you might get away with it once before they ban you.

Tried my first shipment with them last week. A tablet from Amazon Germany. It was delivered to AGS Frankfurt on Monday 6th. Arrived in JNB on the 9th via London and I suspect Dubai.

Unlike DHL they do not preclear and wait for arrival in SA thereby ensuring a customs delay.

Was due for delivery on the 13th but now they can't manage it before the 15th.

9 days?? Seriously poor concept in execution.

That is the service level you should get used to when using AGS. As mentioned before in this thread express couriers that costs more gets prioritized before AGS.

I mostly deal direct with Amazon but this item is not currently shipping to SA.

AGS is an expensive solution (paying duty twice) and the South African franchise owner (Bercow?) is letting them down with sub-par delivery and rigid processes.

Not sure why you say AGS is expensive. Which option are you on? Comparison here. Also how can you say you are paying duty twice?
If you read some of the older posts in this thread you would know what is the norm.

When you buy from Amazon Germany for delivery to AGS Germany, you pay German VAT. When the item arrives in SA you pay duty again to SARS.

If I buy from Amazon Germany for delivery to SA, then German VAT is removed (since the destination is non-EU) so buying via AGS means it is an expensive option.

Go to the search option top right then type 'claim' and select 'this thread'. You will then find posts talking about this very issue
@DeeinSouthAfrica would also be able to help you in the right direction as he uses them a lot

9 days is mild.. We've waited sometimes 3 weeks. But its the cheapest by far and a great option instead of the post office

USPS delivered to my NY address on 6 January. Still hasn't reflected on my ags account. Contacted support and they assure me that they did receive the delivery in NY and that I need to be patient.

Surely almost 3 weeks to register the package to my account is far too long? I think they've lost it and are trying to hide their mistake.

Anyone else had a problem like this before?

Shipment should take 2 days to reflect in your account. Scream loudly, ask to claim under AGS Protect if you have this checked.
This is a check box right underneath the New York address on the Aramex Global Shopper web page.
Every address address has one. Check em all if you haven't do so already.

Finally reflected after 4 days. Called them and they mentioned a backlog with the NY address.

I also wish Amazon was here. My fire stick is pretty useless unless I pay $12.95 for Prime. Luckily I also imported a Chromecast so I can watch the local Amazon Prime Video downloaded from Google Play and cast it. It's got more videos than the $12.95 international version via the fire stick and subscription is $10 cheaper.

Ordered an item in the UK on the 25th and it arrived today at London address.

At the relative same time Ebay sent me a "item delivered" email, AGS sent me the "new item email" and Aramex sent me a "Aramex AGS requirements" email.

At least close enough looking at the times:
