So I guess this is what happen when you order wireless headphones that have batteries inside.

1. It goes via Dubai
2. This:

Same for any JBL Speaker.
I have ordered 6 so far. All went via Dubai and arrived as hazardous cargo.
I guess the Emirates has a special fleet of cargo only Boeing 777's.
The funny thing is that they did that to the Echo Dots as well. The Dubai delay so annoyed me that I actually wrote and complained as both the Echo and Google Home Mini require power to operate. They have no batteries.
I just received a Dot Clock sent directly from JFK, so I guess they listened (maybe).

This one was pretty quick at least, even if going through Dubai.

Smart Saver, a service offering extra savings on packages when shipped together.
"
Please note that effective 01/03/2020 the Smart Saver feature is no longer available."
So very annoying for Flex people who order a number of small items from different suppliers and order in such a way that they get delivered to an Aramex Origin address at the same time.

Anybody using Shanghai origin?
If you check tracking you will see some parcels are being sent to Beijing and then out to JHB.
This is because of the lack of flights to and from Shanghai due to the Coronavirus.
All other origin addresses seem to be running as normal, although all it would take is one infected person to gum up the works. Hopefully they are taking major precautions, especially in New York, where they move tons of shipments.

I had a package delivered to the German address, and it arrived Saturday morning (14/03/2020) at the address. No updates yet from AGS to say they've received it, however, should I be concerned now because of Coronavirus?

Had a package delivered to their NY address on Thursday, and no update from them yet. You are not alone.

I just got an update yesterday evening to say it was on it's way to JHB.
Strange, you'd think Germany would be more problematic than US.

Aramex are very paranoid about cleanliness as it would be very bad if they had to shut down and disinfect a major hub like Slough or New York.
Germany send parcels to Slough and then on to JHB. Flights are very few and far between at the moment so sometimes the first indicator of the whereabouts of your parcel might very well be Johannesburg.
Luckily cargo flights are necessary for our economy, so things will be delayed or re-routed but nothing will be cancelled.
These are very difficult times for all of us, so try to cut Aramex some slack. What would take 2 weeks might very well take 3 weeks. Just hang in there and have patience.

I wonder if the shutdown will stop local delivery?
No one knows yet. Yesterday Ram Couriers said they were closing yet The Courier Guy said they were continuing as usual. Today Ram says nothing and TCG still say business as usual.
I am waiting for Aramex or AGS to say something, but I'm certain no one actually knows yet.

Aramex is still waiting on their management to make a decision according to their twitter. My reading of the regulations is that only courier services in respect to medical products are allowed and certain basic goods.

Fastway is closed.
The Courier Guy - Open for essential goods and medical goods. The supplier must mark package as essential.
Dawn Wing - Open for essential goods and medical goods.
Aramex is closed.
Takealot - Open for essential goods only.
Ram is closed.
UPS is closed.

7% is better than nothing. Not that you can get anything delivered. I'm even struggling to get an order of masks delivered - ordered from Shanghai before the lockdown.
