My parcel was delivered from Amazon to the NY hub on the 22nd and still not updated. I don't mind the delay as we were informed via email but will my charges be from the old price or the new price if they don't scan it in till the 8th?

First time Global-shopper user here. Once they receive the package (eg. at the New York address), do they also factor in the customs/import fees along with the final shipping fee (ala Amazon global shipping), or do I only get hit with customs fee once it actually hits our shores and is processed?

Usually separate.

It goes like this.

Day x - notification parcel received at lets say NY
Day x+1 - notification to pay for shipment. Used to R199 at cheapest (going up soon)
Day x+5 - parcel on the way to JHB customs
Day x+8 - notification to pay for customs amount if any. or worse you get email you need to provide extra docs like invoices etc.
Once all payments done, it will start moving to the closest depo to you and usually delivered next day.

Received a call yesterday. A a package of mine with a $700 item has been misplaced. They cannot find it. I had a feeling something was off because the last tracking note was customs clearance on 28 May.

They called obviously because I was following up daily as to where it is.

This is a first after 5 years of using this service. My advice is NEVER try to change the address as I requested it seeing I wasn’t going to be at the office where my packages are usually delivered.

I have the AGS protect active so I asked when can I claim. They asked that I give them a few days to find it, so will probably wait till Tuesday until i request the payout.

So I just now filled in to my eBay details the NY address that Aramex provides. But I got a message that that address cannot be confirmed/verified. Or something to that effect. Am I doing something wrong?

Order what you want and put that same address. It will accept it (By force) and remember it also.

Put your account code between your name and surname instead of on the address line as directed by AGS. It is that code that prevent it from being verified.

My 2 x Amazon Echo Dots have just today popped up on the AGS app. They were delivered to NY on 28 May.
I can just imagine the place... Parcels EVERYWHERE...

Personally I would be careful ordering during this busy time.

Two other parcels of mine from Amazon are late, can get a refund tomorrow.

Aramex called me today again, the laptop I ordered went with a driver on 4 June to apparently be delivered but never did. No system scanning nothing, all on video.

Driver has a polygraph this week but damn, really.want the item instead of them paying me back.

Just checked the rate calculator.. Seems its R239 for under 0.5kg, + R175 per half kg above that.

Quite a steep increase.

Wow, no warning, nothing. A HELL of a steep increase!
I finally bit the bullet and renewed Flex, and the Flex amounts are about the same as the standard rate was. Shanghai has gone up about R200 per shipment, same for the USA.
I have to pass this on to my customers. Oh joy.

Myus cut their South African rates by 56%. Might be worth it because their delivery addresses are in a tax free state.

It costs approx R500 for a 1kg package. If you going to be paying more than R300 in NY taxes then it is probably worth it.

Not sure what other fees are charged during the process.

It seems China is higher than the rest under Flex. Perhaps as all the PPE flights are taking all the aircraft slots.
