Aramex global shopper

This is the bottom of my list of items ordered. They won't admit Jack's parcel was also hijacked, despite me opening 4 cases so far as it hasn't moved in months.

So good news - they are not down due to COVID-19. My parcel was allocated to the wrong account. I will now have to pay manually once they move the parcel. As stated previously in the thread, the Aramex Global Shopper Facebook support is the way to go and the agent was incredibly helpful.
 
anyone know how much i'll be expected to pay for an action camera (in duty,vat)?

Looking to buy a new Graphics Card and mouse. US seems to be the cheapest with our exchange rate and shipping costs seems similar from AGS on most countries. Any stores you guys can recommend besides Newegg, Amazon and Wallmart?
 
So I wanted my friend in the US to buy something for me from a local store.
He can remove the packaging and send it like a “gift”

Two questions.

1. Which is the best way to send it directly to the US address from his home? USPS is fine?

2. How does the customs duty part work if it’s a “gift”

USPS is okay, they have been jacked up for USA ballot voting.
You are allowed (I think) 2 gifts a year, but getting this through to the morons at Aramex Global Shopper could be a mission.
I would contact them first and ask, especially if the gift is expensive as every shipment must have an invoice, even gifts.
 
Just make sure when you buy from Amazon that it's fulfilled by them. It gets shipped with Aramex and you've got a tracking ID in your order.
Stuff I bought 2 weeks ago and supposed to be here on the 19th November is already out for delivery. Awesome, I love Amazon!

Amazon always do this, add on more time than they need to deliver. I call it the "bugger factor" they add on, just in case something goes wrong.
Amazon are using Aramex Express, which is priority shipping.
Priority shipping is awesome, but you also pay for it.
If an airplane is almost full, priority shipping gets loaded and Aramex Global Shopper shipping waits for the next flight.

Agreed. But it has been a while since I ordered something that would take 6 weeks. Possibly due to lockdown etc. and courier duties being impacted. It normally takes 7-9 days from order for it to arrive at my door.
I just take normal shipping. Saves having to perform extra steps to ship to a box in the USA, and then ship from there to here.
 
hey guys
I am thinking of getting some case fans from Arctic. Price incl. shipping to my Aramex Germany address is 30Euro = R562.
If I have it right, there is no duties, only 15% VAT added. I then did the rate calculator for 1kg and it says R414.

so would this be (562+414)*1.15 = R1122

Please let me know if I have it correct.

How common is physical inspections at customs? I dont want to go through that hassle.

I had it twice with AGS now and 3 times with banggood. I'd say for me it happened with 2 out of 7 packages. Might be different for others depending on your amount of imports.

Has it happened more recently? I have imported things but never had an physical inspection.

With banggood it happened 3 times in a row in the last 3 months for me on 3 different packages.
With AGS only happened once earlier this year.
