Aramex global shopper

hey guys
I am thinking of getting some case fans from Arctic. Price incl. shipping to my Aramex Germany address is 30Euro = R562.
If I have it right, there is no duties, only 15% VAT added. I then did the rate calculator for 1kg and it says R414.

so would this be (562+414)*1.15 = R1122

Please let me know if I have it correct.

Think that is correct but I also paid R 50 for duties on both my Mouse and Headset I imported

ok , so the camera i wanted is now available on banggood, so i always prefer just ordering from them (tax free ).

another questions, most sites dont allow battery shipments to south africa, did anyone try to get some batteries via aramax shopper?

If the battery is part of the item (like a Bluetooth speaker) then the shipment will be sent as a hazardous shipment.
Stand alone batteries will be destroyed.

ok thanks, was hopping for extra, tiny battery for my camera.

My package was sent to the dubai branch from a mate in abu dhabi. It's a gift. The contents is a phone.

What invoice do i supply if it's a gift?

My status with AGS says Special situation. Any ideas on how to get this moving?

With banggood it happened 3 times in a row in the last 3 months for me on 3 different packages.
With AGS only happened once earlier this year.
Do you most import electronic things, that has batteries? How long is the time delay for the inspection?

I'd also like to know. Spoke to an agent via Twitter and my parcel is on hold for an inspection. What are they inspecting exactly?

Should've just paid the R1600 I was quoted by DHL which would've had been delivered in less than a week. Paying R600 for a 2kg parcel via AGS is not worth the headache. Oh well.

Is it not possible to get an inspection with dhl?

My parcel was handed over on the 26th October to AGS. According to the system it's been on hold since the 1st. I'll be surprised if it's here before Xmas. Still unsure what I need to provide if it's a gift. Time will tell

Well, now the parcel disappeared from the system. Goodness.

Anyone know if it's possible to bring phones in via the Shanghai branch?

Aramex has been disappointing on a package from HK. It has stood still for a week now, and they promised me they would send in the customs clearance. Still waiting. I wonder what would happen if I never phoned in.

Still on hold to nag again.

As far as I can tell, mobile phones carry a 9% ad valorem tariff and then 15% VAT. Is this correct?
