I actually just got an email now saying they have my package. Pretty impressed for my first time using AramaxUsually 1-3 days, depending on the facility.

turns out the package that was assigned to me wasn't the one that was left by the gate by Fedex. what do you think the chances of them finding it are and what I can do to get them to find it. all they are telling me to do is to email Fedex or the seller and find out where exactly it was left. Idk what to do at this point, if they will even find it.

Well the invoice is in English but it's basically only the email I got. They don't really have a proper printed invoiceHopefully a proper invoice is included. If it's in English you should be fine. AGS is really a joke service. They can handle English invoices, but for non English ones you're left with translating them yourself, which is unlike other forwarders, eg Tenso which do this for you and provide English documentation themselves.
So when do they confiscate something?
This was a Creative Zen MP3 player from the mid 2000s for my collection. From the UK.

What happened over here? I just got the same message. First time getting this after many items purchased from the same supplier. Can you remember?Shipment update: Code 4: Detained for OGA | MRN: JSA202209075056451
First time I am getting this
To facilitate release from customs control, but notify the
declarant that the goods in question are still subject to
intervention from a designated government agency
Note: Goods are released under the Customs Act, but will be physically re‐
leased by the government agency concerned.
Guess they just want to check out the hot sauce
Took very long inspect hot sauce, was released after 2 weeks. What happened over here? I just got the same message. First time getting this after many items purchased from the same supplier. Can you remember?
I ordered a shirt from America, have done about 8 times and never got this. Do they mail you to let you know something or do I just have to wait now? Perhaps something wrong with the invoice I submitted. Thank you for the reply GTXTook very long inspect hot sauce, was released after 2 weeks.

I have used AGS a lot, but never for something really big.
Does anyone know what size limits there are? I searched but can't find an answer.
I want to buy something in Germany that weighs about 2kg but comes in a box that is about 1.5m long.
It's likely they need a clear invoice. I've had the same 'confiscated by customs' message a few times before.
It may also be that you did not pay the duty fee via the link they sent you. I've had an item released from confiscation the day after I paid.
You'll need to contact them.
So nothing happened and I got my package. It wasn't "confiscated". Maybe that message means something else, like they are properly investigating the contents or something, I don't know.
I have used AGS about 10 times without issue but today they charged my credit card $120 USD for customs and VAT for an Android based home smart panel which only cost about $160 USD. Anyone else had something like this happen? By my calculations, it should have been < R500. I have submitted a support ticket but they are usually pretty slow to reply so I was wondering if anyone else had experienced something similar and if it was easily sorted out to their satisfaction.
Which company is thatWas going to use AGS to ship something from Japan to SA, but then I saw another company ship the same item for R1400 using FedEx, it's a 4kg item. Funny enough DHL was R3000.
